Thursday 17 October we had a special lesson conducted by visiting 5th dan and WKF Champion Sensei Arimoto from Hobu dojo in Japan.. A great lesson for everyone and introduction to Kakuyoku Shodan kata for our Kyu grade students. Osu!

Sports Chaplaincy
Introducing Josef Macdonald, one of our karate-ka.
Josef is an accredited sports chaplain supporting our Japan Karate Shoto-Federation (JKS) Karate Club in Herald Island, where he participates with his children Timo, Kasia and Arto.
Sports Chaplains are volunteers in sports communities providing free, accessible pastoral care, support and mentoring to club members, club officials and their families at the dojo and at the point of need, irrespective of religion, lifestyle and beliefs.
The effect of having Sports Chaplains in sports communities is improved mental, emotional and spiritual wellbeing leading to better people, better lives, better outcomes and better communities.

Last night we trained under Sensei Okamoto - 4th Dan - visiting JKS Japan Honbu dojo Instructor. We practiced stances & punches which transitioned into katas - Heian Sandan & Kakuyoku Shodan. 👊
