Free training every Thursday 6-9 at Auckland university ( corner Symonds street and Waterloo quadrant) Weapons and armour provided. Find our group site on Facebook with the same name as we don't post on this page anymore. We don't have a specific period but generally people will wear anything medieval or viking to training. We have a range of swords and spears and dagger and shields and we encoura

ge people to find their preferred style of fighting and garb. The weapons and gloves are provided and garb is not essential but is great if you have it. Authenticity is up to the individual's own standards. There are no membership fees and no weapon grades. Pretty much anyone can come along at any training. The first three trainings will be the basics and then you can join in the mass battles. At the start of training we go through a few exercises- ie. control, riposte, closing, foot nailed to ground, sparring. Then we may learn a particular style or technique..ie how to get around shields or something from the old manuals. Then for most of the training we play games which can range from king of the hill to line battles to paired resurrection or whatever someone comes up with.
