Wednesday was a gorgeous day for our AGM and annual club awards, full of celebration and community connection.

Congratulations to all of our incredibly talented trophy winners for the year:

AC Club Champs (4-9): 1st Scott, 2nd Alex.
GC Andycap: 1st Fred, runner-up Glenys.
GC Men's Advantage Singles: 1st Warren, runner up Roy.
GC Women's Advantage Singles: 1st Sarah, runner up Glenys.
GC Club Champ Singles Premier: 1st Elaine, runner-up Brendon.
GC Club Champ Singles Intermediate: 1st Sarah, runner-up Bill.
GC Club Champ Singles Primary: 1st Glenys, runner-up Marian.

We also shared a very special celebration to recognise 30 years of outstanding contribution from Jenny and Alex Begg. Our members contributed to some lovely gifts and dedicated a new trophy in their honour. The Alex and Jenny Begg Trophy acknowledges their three decades of service and will be awarded each year to a member who demonstrates an outstanding contribution to our club. This inaugural trophy was awarded to Sarah for her outstanding contribution on the committee, on the courts, and around the club in general.
It was a lovely way to show the Beggs how much we appreciate their quiet commitment. Simon spoke beautifully on behalf of our club, alongside Graeme from CMCA, and Caroll representing the Howick club. We were also delighted to welcome back past members, including Sean, a young man whom Jenny and Alex had a big hand in coaching during his school years.

Huge congratulations to Scott from Pukekohe Croquet Club for winning the Counties Manukau Champ of Champs AC 4-9 bisque title.

In a hard-fought best-of-three final at Manurewa, Scott took the first game 14-6, before David from Manurewa levelled the match with a 21-11 win. Scott ultimately secured the title by winning the final game 14-10.

It was a lovely day of strategic play and friendly competition. We extend our thanks to Jim from Manurewa Croquet Club for refereeing and to the Manurewa Croquet Club for the the use of their lawns.

☀️ Sun, Fun, and a Between-Game Nap

What a stunning day out at the Manurewa Double Tournament.

Big shoutout to our crew of four who headed over today to represent us. The weather was absolutely gorgeous—so gorgeous, in fact, that one of our team members couldn't resist a quick power nap in the sun between games. Hey, that’s what we call peak recovery, right? 😴✨
A massive thank you to the team at Manurewa Croquet Club for hosting such a fantastic event. We had a lovely day on and off the courts.

We had a fantastic rules session today specifically for our newer members. It was great to see everyone so engaged and ready to level up their game.

Thank you to Alex, our club ref, for walking us through some "real-world" examples of faults—there’s nothing like seeing it in person to make the rules click.

Our members are now officially armed with the extra knowledge they need to play with confidence.

Check out the photos below:

* 📸 A few snapshots of our members making the most of the sunshine and enjoying some games earlier this week.

See you all out on the lawns!

A wonderful day was had by all at the Pukekohe Croquet Club this past Saturday for our Advantage Doubles tournament.

The weather cleared after a bit of a drizzly start, our lawns were in top condition, and the competition was filled with great spirit and community connection.

A huge thank you to our sponsor, Waters Funerals for their support of this event.

We also wish to thank New World Pukekohe and Ray White Patumahoe for their generous raffle donations.

Congratulations to our winners:
Section A: 1st: Scott and Sarah (Pukekohe), 2nd: Vanessa and Charlotte (Howick), 3rd: Elaine and Bill (Pukekohe).

Section B: 1st Equal: Nga and Duong (Manurewa) & Maggie and Glenys (Pukekohe), 3rd: Earl and Sharon (Pukekohe).

Special thanks to Jill Mellow for organising such an excellent day, and to all our club helpers who made it possible.

Looking for your own pot of gold?

We had a fantastic St Patrick’s Day at Pukekohe Croquet Club this Tuesday. It was great to see everyone decked out in green for our "pot of gold" centre peg shootout.

If you are looking for a bit of luck and a lot of fun, come down and see us. Golf Croquet is easy to learn, provides a great mental boost, and we will have you playing your first game within 30 minutes.

🏆 Victory at Howick 🏆

Congratulations to our Pukekohe Croquet Club team for their fantastic performance at the Resthaven Team Event held at Howick on 8 March.

The team—Sarah C Lin, Jim Doran, Glenys Best, and Sharon Doran—showed wonderful skill and consistency throughout the day.

Their hard work and team spirit paid off brilliantly, resulting in them taking out the top spot!

It is always a pleasure to see our members representing Pukekohe so well at away events. Well done on a well-deserved win, team.
