Our team races with Jaxon 14 years old in the 28a Ministock, Ash and Luke in the 2 seater V8 racing at Meremere and Amaia 7 years old starting her racing journey in dirt karting soon.

We finally hit the track yesterday for the first practice with the newly designed 28A Minstock.

Car was absolutley humming thanks to the new powerplant from Shane at Hawera Automotive 1999 Ltd.

Straight off the bat the car preformed well almost matching Jaxons fastest laptime from last season which he held for almost half the season last year at Waikaraka Family Speedway until mate Vinny broke his lap record.
This is a true testament to Shane and the teams hard work.

We had an absolute ball on and off track with our speedway family.

Car is washed and a few things sorted thanks to Jerry ready for practice number 2 next Saturday and the first points meeting at Meremere Dirt Track Club next sunday.

We had an awesome night celebrating all the success of our Auckland team at the Waikaraka Family Speedway Auckland Ministock prizegiving.

Huge thanks to the club for letting our kids race , the volunteers that give up their time to be there and the officials that are there keeping them safe.

The biggest thanks goes to Fredo Morgan we wouldn't have the "A team" without him, his time,patience,encouragement, Trade values, love for the sport and effort he puts in for not only our kids and families but all the families we are lucky enough to have come and race with us.

Huge congratulations to all our kids.

Jax had a stellar season best one yet.
He walked away with a few awards lastnight.

Proud of this kid and excited to see what he can do this year.

Amaia was lucky enough to get a certificate for Lil Crew chief as well which is always so special for our kids.

It Was a really special moment for us aswell seeing three of our boys we helped get into Ministocks and whanau all finish top on points overall in the club.

Now we see Dylz go into Streetys, Steven have his last season in Ministocks and Jax with a couple more seasons left to go.

Boy have we been busy these last few weeks .

First we want to say a huge thanks to some awesome people and businesses that have helped us get ready to go again in two weeks time.

Picked the car up at lunch from our awesome sponsors Shannon Engineering and Stoney Peak Pet Lodge and now it's all stripped ready to be blasted next weekend. Tomorrow we work on getting the v8 ready for the season with a new body and steel work

🚙 Rebuild complete 🚙

Thanks to our awesome sponsor Dale from Shannon Engineering our car is straight again.
Bumpers, side rails , wheel gates all replaced with spares. Exhaust and cracks all sorted and a few modifications to the body work all completed can't thank him enough for all the hours he puts into bringing our dreams to reality.

Next up massive strip down to get her sandblasted and painted.

🔥 2025-2026 season re-cap 🔥

This season was so different to the last one.
Jax has just completed his second full year in Ministocks and boy was it a scorcher.

There were multiple highs and a couple lows but we did it we travelled , he raced, he competed and he stayed in the top 20 in every race completed . His lowest finishing position in a race was 16th out of 26+ per race.

Throughout the season we had a lot of laughs and Jaxon made us proud!

1 trip to the refs box all season because of a family that doesn't like us . (Protested us on a 6th place on a club night 😆)

Two trips planned for the South Island and then tick off the last two north island tracks for us at Hawkes bay and Wellington.

We also had a huge season with the v8 and Luke and will write that up in the next few days.

🏁 Taipa Speedway Percy Poharama kings birthday challenge 30th and 31st of May 2026 🏁

Firstly we would love to thank Fredo Morgan for organising the event , putting so much love into it and letting us be apart of it again for the third year . This is our most favourite event because of the memories we get to make with so many families. This year we had 39 families and 74 drivers competing over four groups .

Jaxon raced in the kings group with 15 other drivers and managed to get 5 races done before the rain came.

Race 1 - Grid 11 ➡️ 8th place
Race 2 - Grid 13 ➡️ 3rd place
Race 3 - Grid 15 ➡️ 3rd place
Race 4 - Grid 1 ➡️ 1st place 🏁
Race 5 - Grid 3 ➡️ 3rd place

This placed Jax 🥇equal overall for the weekend with 23R Blair Hume from Ministock 23R racing team.

Big congratulation to Blair , Ministock 99A Carlos on 🥈and Kaiden Beale on 🥉and also all the kings for the spectacular racing.
Sending heaps of love to cousin Steven 82A after his big roll (he's doing good though he's a champ) , Jake 8A and Ella Vercoe 116P after having a crash and hurting themselves.

We also couldn't let Luke miss out on some fun out on track so shoved him in Jax's ministock in the adult class with 16 other parents and ex ministock drivers.

Race 1 - Grid 9 ➡️ 4th
Race 2 - Grid 1 ➡️ 1st
Race 3 - Grid 11 ➡️ 3rd
Race 4 - Grid 1 ➡️ 1st

This placed Luke 🥈 overall for the weekend next to stockcar driver Tony Coxhead in 🥇 place and Alice 95a ex ministock driver in 🥉place.

Luke had a bloody epic battle with Tony in the last race before the rain hit that showed Ministocks can battle next to eachother the whole race without touching. Was awesome to see 🔥

The memories created with all the families is what we love about racing, the banter, the laughs and the fun is what you can't beat.
Taipa creates memories we will all hold onto forever and makes us excited to be going into the offseason prepping for next year traveling around with these awesome families.

Huge thanks to Martine, Steve , Ashley, Haydyn and all the Taipa speedway team for letting us all be there and race, to all the families we thank you for being there , helping out and enjoying your weekend welcome to the new ones and congratulations to your little ones on starting their racing journey.

This now completes Jaxon's second full season in Ministocks.
