It was another quiet day at Melrose Rd in the junior space with the majority of our JAB teams at Rakaia. Some great games out there by the sounds. At home, it was awesome to see the Yr 8’s have a run on the main field with great support on the sidelines. Shout out to the Yr 2’s who were all on their lonesome out on the back fields!

The Allenton Rugby Club is deeply saddened by the passing of Life Member Lyell Wells.
Lyell dedicated many years of service to our club and played a huge role in shaping the Allenton community that so many enjoy today. Over the years, he served tirelessly on the committee, as JAB Club Captain and Bar Manager, always giving his time, energy, and support wherever needed. Lyell was passionate about the club and the people within it.
Our thoughts and heartfelt condolences are with Jenny and the entire Wells family at this difficult time.
Thank you, Lyell, for your years of commitment, friendship, and service to the maroon and gold. You will be greatly missed and fondly remembered by those who knew you.
A service to celebrate Lyell’s life will be held on Tuesday, 26th May at 1pm in the Allenton Rugby Clubrooms.
