Where do I start.......to get to 25 years as a sports club is tough, to get to 100 is downright amazing.
Saturday night, we celebrated the monumental achievement of reaching 100 years & what a night it was.
The effort put in by Craig Harrison, our sports club President & all that helped him was nothing short of spectacular. I am not going to try to name everyone, as I don't want to miss out anyone, but a massive thanks goes out to you all.
We are all so thankful for all your efforts; the night would not have happened without you.
Thank you to everyone who came along to the night, people come from far & wide, some who planned to come didn't make it, but we appreciate the fact that you tried to come, sometimes life gets in the way of your goals.
We appreciate the effort from everyone there on the night & also the Friday social night before.
It started with a couple of fizzy drinks & plenty of chattering around the room, then the MC Matt Markham & Craig started with their words. Matt had a lot of funny things to say, keeping us in laughter, which set the tone for the night.
We had Bowls New Zealand representative, Kevin Smith, there to present us with a cool plaque marking the 100th year for the Bowling Club, which was great to see.
We also had our special guests, Edwards & Smith, with us for the weekend. It was awesome to have these ladies who gave up their time to make the trip down; they really made the evening a special one.
The food from feasts, Burnham, was amazing, a once in 100 year feast.
To end the night, just before the music, we had the one & only Ian Chambers with the Iantertainment act that he is taking on the road. Ian was a Horse Racing commentator for 40 years & now is trying his hand at comedy, & he goes good highly recommend seeing it if you get the chance.
To wrap up Id like to thank all the ladies & Gentlemen who worked the bar, the set up pack down, the guest speakers & guests, Ian Chambers & every person in the building it was truly a special night & we thank you all.
