❄️ Backcountry Avalanche Course — 10 days out, spots filling

Fresh snow this week has got us fizzing for the season ahead. Before the lifts are turning, there's still time to lock in the skills that'll matter most once they are: our 5-day Backcountry Avalanche Course (MSC 2) is running foot-based/tramping this round, with the exact same rescue technique, avalanche theory and snowpack analysis you'd get on our ski-based courses.

If you're a backcountry skier or rider - it's the same curriculum in boots instead of on skis, and a really great way to get in the terrain before the distraction of getting sweet turns in arrives. Get the learning under your belt so that you’re ready to go skiing and make the most of the winter!

Hearing the buzz about ski touring this winter but not sure where to start? 🏔️🏂⛷️

We have two spaces available on our Intro to Ski touring course September 9-10th - the perfect opportunity to begin exploring the backcountry on skis or a spliboard. Content includes equipment, route planning, skinning technique and basic avalanche awareness.

Come dig a pit with us! Two spots have opened up on an avalanche awareness course with NZSSI this weekend.

The course follows the curriculum and is your first step on a formal avalanche education journey. As well as gaining knowledge to keep yourself and your mates safe in the back country this winter, you'll also receive an Avalanche Skills Course 1 certificate of completion.
