📣📣📣 WE WANT YOU (or your mate) for Temple Basin Summer 2026
Temple Basin Ski Club is recruiting TWO live-in, paid summer staff to be based at the club lodge (1400m) in Arthur’s Pass National Park.
🗓 Mid-February to mid-April 2026 with training provided prior to start date.
These weekday roles involve representing Temple Basin for visiting school groups staying on the mountain for several days at a time. Groups are largely self-sufficient — you’re there to support, host, and keep the lodge running smoothly during the week leaving your weekends free.
The roles:
• Cook — catering for visiting school groups
• Custodian — operating the goods lift at the road, guiding groups to the tarns in Upper Bills Basin, general lodge support
You’ll work closely together and with the groups to keep the lodge clean, functional, and welcoming.
You’ll need
• Good fitness and confidence in alpine environments
• Excellent English and communication skills
• First Aid certification
• NZ residency or a valid NZ work visa
Role-specific requirements
• Cook: experience cooking for large groups / commercial kitchens
• Custodian: full driver’s licence (manual), ability to walk ~480m vertical to the road, experience managing groups
