Today the boys played Manukura in Palmerston North. It was a good game player d with a lot of passion. The final score was 22-18 to Aranui. The storm recruitment staff watched the game and awarded the aranui player of the day to Jope Tagicakibau. Thank you to Manukura for your hospitality.

Today the AHS Senior Rugby Team won the Wednesday Secondary Schools Shield for the 3rd year in a row. It was a great game against Ellesmere College. The Ellesmere team did really well but the final score was 31 - 19. Thanks has to go out to CRFU, supporters and to the boys. Now our focus is on Manukura next Monday. We are also fundraising for our trip to nationals and we are looking for support on our Givealittle page.

Aranui High School played St Thomas today. It was a good game. Aranui won 26-20. St Thomas were strong and gave us a good go. Thank you to the St Thomas team and we will see you soon for the next 2 games. Aranui High is preparing to play Manukura in a couple of weeks. The preparation is all for Nationals. On the 18th of May 2016, the 1stXV and the Girls XV played in the CRFU College Day at Burnside Park.

1stXV
Played against Mt Hutt and Won 32 - 0, second game was against Rangiora, which was a very close game, Aranui High School won and the final score was 12 - 10. The last pool game was against a very young Horby High School side where the boys won 37 - 0. The final was against Ellemere, a repeat of the 2015 Wednesday Competition final and the boys were victorious 32 - 0 and took home the Sam Broomhall Trophy.

Girls XV
The Girls started the day against one of the best teams in Canterbury, Forward Foundation. The game was lost 24 - 0. In the second game the Girls played Burnside/Rangiruru and went down 5 - 0. Going throu to the finals the girls played Papanui and were victorious 12 - 0 to come 7th out of 9 teams. This was the start of the Girls XV season and will get better with more games. Thank you to Xavier Fidow-Bradbrook and Ms Rose Telea for coaching the Girls for College Day and the season.

Aranui High School's Senior Rugby Team and Girls Rugby Team entered into the CRFU College Day. The girls played 3 Games. They won their last game to come 7th. The boys played 3 pool games where they were undefeated and went into the final against Ellesmere and won 33 - 0 and took the trophy. MVP for the boys Jope Tagicakibau. Thank you to Xavier and Miss Telea for coaching the Girls. Now prep for the season.

Aranui High School have now played 3 games for Linwood Colts Rugby and yesterday the boys beat New Brighton Colts 51 - 17 there first win of the season. It was great to see the boys out there.

Tonight the rugby league team played Greymouth High School in the annual Coast of Origin. The boys played as hard as they could and the final score was 38 - 10 and the shield is back at Aranui for the last time.

The Rugby League Academy had their first game of Rugby yesterday, they played Papanui/Merivale. They went down 4tries to 2.

On Friday Aranui High School had 2 teams entered into the Senior Secondary Schools 9 aside. The Academy team won the tournament. Final was against St Thomas of Canterbury. The Mainstream team came 3rd. From this tournament we have named a 25 man squad. this is as follows...
