In 2019, Lights Off, Sweat On was born from one simple idea: fitness should feel empowering, not intimidating. But he kept hearing

the same thing over and over:
🚫 The lights were too bright.
🚫 The mirrors made them feel self-conscious.
🚫 And the “flex culture” made walking into a gym feel intimidating. So we did something different. We turned the lights off. We took the mirrors down. And we built a space where effort is celebrated, not ego. Since then, we’ve helped everyday people – from complete beginners to seasoned athletes – become stronger, fitter, and more confident. Our members don’t come here to show off. They come here to put in the work. At Lights Off, Sweat On, training isn’t about looking perfect under the lights — it’s about what you can achieve when the spotlight is gone.

In March this year I challenged Liv’s Journey to lose 50kgs by the end of this year!

Safe to say we’ll be there before 2027 rolls in!

If you ask her what the secret is, she’ll say “show up every day, and trust the process”

You might think you need to be fitter, stronger, or know what you’re doing before you start.

Kilos are coming down, but weights are going up!!
Another successful Testing Week completed with the LOSO fam!

We had a couple of ladies join the “100kg Club” on deadlifts, we had a couple of the boys hit over 160kgs, and all in all, EVERYONE beat their old PB’s

Now that is something to celebrate! 🥳

Most of the time, it’s about becoming a better version of yourself.

“It takes 21 days to form a habit…Then it becomes routine.”
But here’s the part nobody really talks about…

The first few days?
You’re motivated, fired up, posting the workouts, and drinking more water, telling yourself “this time is different.”

Then reality hits.

Your body is sore.
The alarm gets snoozed.
Winter mornings are dark and cold.
Work gets stressful.
Life gets busy.
And suddenly the excuses start sounding more and more reasonable.

That’s the moment that matters the most.

Because habits aren’t built when it’s easy.
They’re built when you show up anyway.

Why do you train every day?

Not to punish yourself.
Not to chase a number on the scale.

You train so your 60s feel strong.
So your body keeps up with your life.

So one day, when your grandkids run toward you yelling “Nan!”
You can pick them up without hesitation.
Get down on the floor with them.
Run beside them.
Be present for every moment INSTEAD of watching from the couch.

Because strength gives you more LIFE in your years.

Sounds good on a quote page… Until you’re the one getting humbled.

Until the scale doesn’t move.
Until you gas out halfway through a workout.
Until life punches harder than you can handle.

That’s the part nobody posts about.

Because learning feels ugly when you’re in it.
It looks like failure.
Like frustration.
Like wanting to quit because everything is getting overwhelming.

But L.O.S.O. wasn’t built for perfect people.
It was built for the people willing to keep showing up after bad days.

The ones who take the loss, take the lesson, and come back even harder.

Because real growth isn’t always loud.
