On the occasion of International Women's Day, Mysuru Athletes Club in association with Royal Riders Mysuru, IAMAS, Narayana Hospital, Cyclopedia, Sandeep Dance Academy, Young Indians Mysuru and Mysoorunners organised a Nature Walk at Chamundi Hills to celebrate the spirit, strength and wellbeing of women.
The walkathon was flagged off by K.C. Divyashree, Deputy Inspector General (DIG) of Prisons in South Zone Bengaluru, who appreciated the initiative and encouraged women to stay active and prioritise their health. The walk covered nearly 7 kilometres through the scenic and serene routes of Chamundi Betta, giving participants an opportunity to experience nature while promoting fitness and community bonding.
Women from different age groups enthusiastically took part in the walk and enjoyed the refreshing morning amidst the greenery of the hills. As part of the celebration, Sandeep from Sandeep Dance Academy conducted an energetic Zumba session which added excitement to the event and kept the participants active and engaged.
Adding an adventurous element to the event, IAMAS organised a rock climbing session where participants had the opportunity to experience climbing with proper rope support and safety measures. Many participants enthusiastically tried the activity, making it one of the highlights of the day.
The event successfully brought together fitness enthusiasts, community organisations and supporters to celebrate International Women’s Day in a meaningful way by promoting health, outdoor activity and the importance of an active lifestyle.
