Heartiest congratulations to Siveej .k.s for successfully completing the Full Everesting challenge at Jigani in an incredible 33 hours and 50 minutes, organized by Bengaluru Cycling Club. This is a truly outstanding achievement and a testament to his endurance, discipline, and determination. 🚴‍♂️👏

Everesting is one of the most demanding endurance challenges in cycling, where a rider repeatedly climbs the same hill until the total elevation gained equals 8,848 meters — the height of Mount Everest. It requires extraordinary physical stamina, mental resilience, and unwavering focus, making it one of the ultimate tests of a cyclist’s limits.

When it comes to fitness and health, for some, age is a mere number. This was aptly proved by 15 cyclists - 8 of whom were senior citizens - of Mysore Athletes Club (MAC). The team of cyclists recently completed a seven day cycle ride from Mysore to Kanyakumari via Dhanushkodi covering a total distance of 950 kilometres. The ride passed through the picturesque Sathyamangala forest, challenging Dimbam ghat and the scorching plains of Karaikkudi, Rameshwaram, Dhanushkodi and Tuticorin to reach Kanyakumari.

Of the 15 cyclists, 4 were from Bangalore. While two cyclists were aged 75, one was 70 and five were above 60 years of age.The ride was aimed at promoting and strengthening the ‘fit India movement’ started by the government of India.

The ride began on the 1st of November morning and the cyclists reached Kanyakumari on the 7th of this month afternoon, covering on an average 135 kilometres each day. In villages and cities alike, the riders were often greeted by the public who were inquisitive to know about the purpose and details of the cycle journey.
