The much-anticipated match between the Tenth Batch and the Thirteenth Batch delivered an absolute thriller that ended in a dramatic tie.
The Tenth Batch held their nerve and emerged victorious in the Super Over.
Winning the toss, the Tenth Batch opted to bat first. Despite a shaky start, they managed to post a competitive total of 87 runs for the loss of 6 wickets in their allotted 12 overs. Dr. Mukesh Kumar Baitha was the top scorer with a composed 36 off 33 balls, supported by Dr. Chiranjibi Pandit with 11 off 13 and Dr. Amit Gupta with 9 off 8.
In response, the Thirteenth Batch came out with determination. Ajay Luitel led the charge with an impressive 48 off 38 balls, striking 6 boundaries and 2 sixes. He was supported by Mahesh Dahal, who contributed 16 off 23. However, a flurry of wickets in the final over, including three quick dismissals, turned the match on its head. In the last 11 balls, the Thirteenth Batch needed only 3 runs, but ultimately, they also finished on 87 for 6 in 12 overs. Niraj Nepal bowled a brilliant final over, conceding just 2 runs and forcing the match into a Super Over.
In the Super Over, the Thirteenth Batch set a target of 9 runs. The Tenth Batch successfully chased it down with 2 balls to spare. Niraj Nepal once again delivered under pressure, having bowled the 10th and 12th overs economically, and conceding only 8 runs in the Super Over to seal the win for his team.
With excellent performances, tight finishes, and balanced efforts from both sides, the match was a perfect showcase of competitive spirit and sportsmanship — truly a match to remember!
