From Nepal’s Fairways to Florida’s Elite Golf Club: Kashmira Shah’s Inspiring Journey
KATHMANDU: Kashmira gets off to a new journey as one of Nepal’s most accomplished female amateur golfers begins carving out a promising career in the international golf industry after completing her higher education in the United States.
A leading figure in women’s golf in Nepal in 2025, Kashmira Shah earned an R&A Foundation Scholarship secured by the Nepal Golf Association, an opportunity that opened the door for her academic and professional growth abroad. Through the prestigious scholarship, Kashmira completed her Master’s Degree in Hospitality Management from Atlantis University in Miami.
Following her graduation, Kashmira has now embarked on a professional journey in the golf industry and is currently working as a Golf Operations Associate at the prestigious Country Club at Mirasol in Palm Beach Gardens.
Her transition from Nepal’s fairways to one of Florida’s renowned golf clubs marks a significant milestone not only in her own career but also for Nepali women’s golf. Having represented Nepal as one of the country’s top amateur golfers, Kashmira has continued to stay connected to the sport while building expertise in golf operations and hospitality management.
Speaking about her journey and long-term aspirations, Kashmira said her dream is to become a Director of Golf one day and eventually take on a leadership role in golf development around the world.
“Beyond my career goals, I am passionate about inspiring the next generation, especially young women in Nepal and in other countries where female participation in golf is still low,” she said. “I want to help create more opportunities for girls to get involved in the game and encourage future champions both on and off the course.”
Kashmira also expressed her commitment to contributing to grassroots golf development and making the sport more accessible to young people.
“Most importantly, I am incredibly grateful to my family, Nepal Golf Association and everyone who has supported me throughout my journey,” she added. “There is still a long way to go, but I am excited for what lies ahead and look forward to giving back to the game that has given me so much.”
Her story stands as an inspiring example of how sport, education and international opportunities can combine to create new pathways for Nepali athletes beyond competition, while also highlighting the growing role of women in the global golf industry.
