Day 4 Highlights ♟️

Four days, countless lessons, and a journey that now feels too short.

As the training came to a close, Chairman Dinesh Maharjan shared his heartfelt appreciation for the students — for their effort, their curiosity, and their courage to step into the world of this beautiful intellectual game.

In just a few days, the board became more than squares and pieces. It became a place of thinking, patience, mistakes, growth, and quiet confidence.

But endings in chess are never really endings — they lead to the next game.

With his guidance, students now carry forward a new goal: two more weeks of practice, of learning, of believing — before they return to face each other again at the end of Jestha.

The Chairman Cup awaits… not just as a tournament, but as a moment to show how far they’ve come.

This wasn’t just a training.
It was a beginning they’ll remember.

Three days in, and the transformation is visible. From learning how pieces move to now applying strategies on the board, students at KMC Ward 4 are growing more confident with every game.

Day 3 focused on practical play, tactical thinking, and understanding how every move creates opportunities. The excitement of competition and the joy of learning filled the room as students challenged themselves and each other.

Guided by FIDE Instructor Yaishash Yashir Khamboo and Instructor Sangam Pokhrel, these young minds are proving that chess is not only a game — it is a tool for thinking, patience, and creativity.

One move at a time, future champions are being shaped. ♟️✨

Less about pieces, more about purpose.

Day 2 focused on solving; because chess isn’t just about moving pieces, it’s about identifying problems and making things happen. Students were divided into groups, challenged with positions, patterns, and decisions that pushed them to think deeper.

But it didn’t stop at solving. Once a group found the answer, they stepped in to help others turning the room into a space of collaboration, not just competition.

Discussions, ideas, and shared solutions filled the room as young minds learned that every move carries a question… and every good player finds the answer.
Step by step, they’re not just playing chess — they’re learning how to think, together.

Day 1: Highlights at Kathmandu Metropolitan City-4

The board is set, and the journey has begun.
Students from KMC Ward 4 came together on Day 1 of the 4-Day Chess Training Program, taking their first steps into the world of chess. From setting up the board to understanding the strength and movement of each piece, curiosity filled the room.

Guided by FIDE Instructor Yaishash Yashir Khamboo and Instructor Sangam Pokhrel, young minds began building the foundation of strategic thinking.

As the saying goes every grandmaster was once a beginner and today, that journey started here at KMC-4
