RNGC & Heart to Heart Golf Tournament 2026

RNGC & Heart to Heart Golf Tournament 2026 was successfully held on 28th February 2026 (Saturday) at the prestigious Royal Nepal Golf Club. The tournament was played in the Stableford 3/4 Handicap format, witnessing great enthusiasm, competitive spirit, and remarkable sportsmanship from all participants.
In the Men’s Category, Shivank Jung Thapa emerged as the Winner with an impressive score of 41 points, while Brig. Gen. (Rtd) Bishnu Bdr Karki secured the Runner-Up position with 34 points.

In the Gross Category, Saroj Thapa claimed the Gross Winner title with 34 points.

In the Ladies Category, Avanie Rai won the title with a total of 30 points.

In the Senior Category, Madan Rana became the Winner with 37 points, followed closely by Hari Bahadur Shrestha as the Runner-Up with 36 points.

In the Super Senior Category, Maj. Gen. (Rtd.) Om Pun secured the Winner’s position with 26 points.

Among the Special Prizes, Ashish Man Sherchan recorded the Most Birdies with a total of 4 birdies. The Longest Drive on Hole No. 11 was achieved by Shree Jay Acharya, while the Closest to the Pin on Hole No. 12 was won by Lt. Col. Nishchaya Jung Rayamajhi.
The prizes were distributed during a special ceremony held at the club premises. The awards were presented by distinguished guests including Madhukar Yakthumba (President, RNGC), Roshan Nyachhon (President, Heart to Heart), Nilam Thapa Rai, Mithun Rai (Captain, RNGC), Dr. Rabi Malla, and Dr. Sankar Kafle.

The ceremony concluded with heartfelt appreciation for all participants, sponsors, and organizers whose support and dedication made the tournament a memorable and grand success.

RNGC Annual General Meeting Held Successfully

The Annual General Meeting (AGM) of the Royal Nepal Golf Club (RNGC) was successfully held on 6th February 2026 at the club premises with the enthusiastic participation of club members and officials, making the gathering notably well attended.

The meeting commenced with General Secretary Col. Shashi Bikram Singh, who conducted the program and guided members through the agenda of the session.

In his address, the Club President Mr. MadhukarYakthumba highlighted the progress achieved over the past year, including improvements in club facilities and course conditions, successful tournaments, and continued efforts to strengthen club activities and youth development initiatives. He expressed appreciation to members and partners for their continued support and cooperation.

Captain Mithun Rai presented the annual sporting report, summarizing the tournaments and golfing activities conducted during the year. He also shared plans for upcoming competitions and programs aimed at enhancing member participation and club engagement.

Treasurer Mr. Roshan Rai presented the financial report and budget, outlining the club’s financial performance, expenditures, and future budget plans to ensure sustainable growth and improved services.

During the interactive session, Treasurer Roshan Rai and Captain Mithun Rai addressed queries raised by members, providing clarifications and engaging in constructive discussions, which contributed positively to the meeting.

The AGM concluded with a Vote of Thanks delivered by Lady Captain Ms. Arshia Banu, who acknowledged the valuable support of members, staff, sponsors, and stakeholders in the continued development of the club.

The meeting ended on a positive and forward-looking note, reaffirming RNGC’s commitment to promoting golf and further enhancing club facilities and member services in the coming year.

RNGC Youth Development Program – Shaping the Future of Nepali Golf !

The Youth Development Program is not just about producing golfers — it is about shaping the future ambassadors of Nepali golf.

The Royal Nepal Golf Club (RNGC) continues to play a vital role in the growth of golf in Nepal through its Youth Development Program, which has become a strong foundation for producing young and competitive golfers for the nation.

Currently, more than 100 young golfers are actively training under the program, receiving structured coaching, regular practice opportunities, and exposure to competitive golf from an early age. Under the guidance of Teaching Professional Sachin Pd. Bhattarai and the dedicated coaching team, juniors develop not only technical golf skills but also discipline, sportsmanship, patience, and mental strength — qualities essential both on and off the course.

Through access to proper facilities, coaching support, practice sessions, and tournament exposure, RNGC is creating opportunities for young golfers to gain confidence and competitive experience. Many juniors from the program are steadily progressing and preparing to represent the club and the nation in future competitions.

RNGC’s long-term commitment remains focused on building a strong pipeline of young golfers who can compete nationally and internationally, ensuring the continued growth of golf in Nepal.

RNGC proudly continues its journey of nurturing the champions of tomorrow.

2nd RNGC & Matrika Eye Center Junior Monthly Medal 2026 Successfully Concludes
The Royal Nepal Golf Club successfully organized the 2nd RNGC & Matrika Eye Center Junior Monthly Medal 2026 on 24 January 2026, played in the Stableford 3/4 format, with the participation of 45 junior golfers across multiple age categories.

The event once again served as an excellent platform for young golfers to gain competitive experience, build confidence, and showcase their growing skills. The juniors demonstrated commendable discipline, sportsmanship, and passion for the game, reflecting the strong foundation of junior golf development at RNGC.
In the Under-18 Boys’ category, Suyog Kandel delivered a strong and composed performance to secure the winner’s title, while Sudev Sharma finished close behind as the runner-up after an impressive round.

The Under-18 Girls’ category witnessed excellent competition, with Yshwai Shrestha emerging as the winner through consistent play, followed by Anusha Mainali, who claimed the runner-up position with a commendable performance.

In the Under-14 Boys’ division, Birson Rai showcased great control and confidence to claim first place, while Devansh Kumar earned the runner-up spot after a competitive showing.

The Under-14 Girls’ category saw Adriti Thapa take the top honors with a solid round, as Pranja Rajyashree Thapa finished as runner-up, displaying promising talent and determination.

In the Under-12 Boys’ section, James emerged victorious with an impressive performance, while Dev Jalan secured the runner-up position, reflecting the depth of young talent coming through the ranks.

The youngest competitors also shone in the Under-10 Girls’ category, where Suhavi Bastakoti claimed the winner’s title, and Divyashree Shrestha finished as runner-up, highlighting a bright future for junior golf at RNGC.
Prize distribution was graciously conducted by RNGC Captain Mr. Mithun Rai, who congratulated all participants and encouraged them to continue working hard and enjoying the game of golf.

Special appreciation goes to Teaching Pro. Sachin Pd. Bhattarai for his continuous guidance, dedication, and efforts in nurturing junior golfers at RNGC. His commitment has played a vital role in the steady improvement and confidence of the young players.

RNGC would also like to extend sincere thanks to Matrika Eye Center, parents, coaches, and supporters for their valuable support in promoting junior golf and helping shape the future of Nepali golf.

Faldo Junior Tour Nepal Championship Concludes; Three Qualify for Asia Grand Final
Prakrit Tamang, Soham Agrawal and Avanie Rai qualified for the Faldo Junior Tour Asia Grand Final after winning their respective categories at the Faldo Junior Tour Nepal Championship held at the Royal Nepal Golf Club.

Prakrit Tamang won the overall title and the boys’ 17–21 years category with a 54-hole total of 9-over 213, carding an even-par 68 in the final round to beat Swapnil Bhattarai by two strokes. Swapnil finished second at 11-over 215, while Siddhant Sapkota placed third at 233.

In the boys’ 12–16 years category, Soham Agrawal secured a four-stroke victory with a total score of 17-over 221. Reuben Thapa finished second at 225 and Daniel Baniya came third at 245.

Avanie Rai claimed the girls’ title and earned qualification to the Asia Grand Final for the second consecutive time. She finished with a total of 252, edging the United Kingdom’s Amelie Lo Giudice by one stroke. Amelie placed second at 253, while Yashwi Shrestha finished third at 270.

The three winners will represent Nepal at the Faldo Junior Tour Asia Grand Final in Vietnam in March. A total of 41 golfers took part in the tournament organised by the Nepal Golf Association. Prizes were distributed by NGA President Tashi Ghale, NGA Member Arshiya Banu, Bagmati Province Golf Association President Madan Rana, Royal Nepal Golf Club President Madhukar Yakthumba, Captain Mithun Rai and Treasurer Roshan Rai.

Swapnil and Soham Share Overall Lead; Amelie and Avanie Tied in Girls’ Section

Swapnil Bhattarai and Soham Agrawal shared the overall lead after the second round of the Faldo Junior Tour Nepal Championship at the Royal Nepal Golf Club on Thursday.
Both Swapnil and Soham posted identical 36-hole totals of 6-over-par 142, placing them at the top of the leaderboard. Prakrit Tamang sits in third place with a total score of 9-over 145.
Boys’ 17–21 Years Category
In the boys’ 17–21 age category, Swapnil Bhattarai opened up a three-stroke lead over Prakrit Tamang. Swapnil carded his second consecutive 3-over 71 to reach 6-over 142 after two rounds. Prakrit also shot 3-over 71 in the second round for a total of 9-over 145.
Satya Jot Rana and Siddhant Sapkota are tied for third at 155, after both players returned scores of 8-over 76 in round two.
Swapnil went out in 2-over 36 on the front nine, making birdies on the fourth and seventh holes, offset by bogeys on the second, third, fifth, and ninth. On the back nine, he fired 1-over 35, carding birdies on the 10th, 14th, and 18th holes, but suffered a triple bogey on the 13th and a bogey on the 11th.
Ashray Basnyat, Vivash Dhoj Khand, Srijan Nagarkoti, Nirjal Shrestha, Sushant Kandel, Sharyan Basnyat, and Ram Bhandari also made the cut in this category.
Boys’ 12–16 Years Category
In the boys’ 12–16 age category, Soham Agrawal moved into the lead with a total score of 6-over 142. He produced an impressive even-par 68 in the second round to open up a nine-stroke lead over overnight leader Reuben Thapa. Reuben struggled to a 10-over 78, slipping to 15-over 151 overall. Daniel Baniya is third at 165 after shooting 20-over 88.
Soham carded 1-over 35 on the front nine, highlighted by a birdie on the first hole and an eagle on the fourth, against bogeys on the sixth and seventh and a double bogey on the eighth. He followed it up with 1-under 33 on the back nine, making birdies on the 10th and 14th holes before dropping a shot on the 15th.
Dipson Lama, Wangyal Gyatso, Aaroha Neupane, Lucky Shiva, Ishan Shrestha, Aaradhya Tandan, Birshan Rai, and Ayush Besfor also advanced to the final round.
Girls’ Section
In the girls’ section, Amelie Lo Giudice and Avanie Rai shared the lead with identical totals of 31-over 167. Amelie shot 19-over 87 in the second round, while Avanie carded 22-over 90. Yashwi Shrestha is in third place at 180 after returning a 21-over 93.
Anvadya Malla withdrew midway through the second round due to injury.
A total of 25 golfers—11 each in the boys’ 17–21 and boys’ 12–16 categories, along with three in the girls’ section—made the cut for the final round. Following the completion of 54 holes on Friday, the winners of all three categories will earn tickets to the Faldo Series Asia Grand Final, scheduled to be held in Vietnam in March.1.7sFast30 sources
