Nepal is open, and we're welcoming you with open hearts. 🙏🇳🇵
Following the tragic flash floods that struck Nepal's Rasuwa district on August 26, 2026, our hearts go out to every family affected, and to the tourists and locals still missing. This has been an incredibly painful time for our country.
But we also want to be clear and honest with you: the disaster hit a specific, narrow river corridor, not the country as a whole. The Nepal Tourism Board has confirmed that Kathmandu, Pokhara, and the vast majority of Nepal's tourism activities, retreats, and daily life continue to operate normally and safely.
The affected areas are specifically along the, Bhote Koshi and Trishuli river corridors, including parts of Rasuwa, Nuwakot, Dhading, Gorkha, and Chitwan, and the Tourism Board has advised avoiding travel to these specific zones for now, out of safety and respect for ongoing rescue efforts.
Kathmandu is safe. Pokhara is safe. Nepal's tourism sector, including yoga retreats, teacher trainings, sound healing, and wellness experiences here at Himalayan Yoga Academy, continues to run fully and safely.
If you've been dreaming of a healing journey, a retreat, or simply time in the Himalayas, please don't let fear cancel a trip that Nepal is ready and able to host safely. In fact, choosing to visit right now does something meaningful: your stay, your retreat booking, even a single purchase here indirectly supports Nepal's economy and the communities working hard to recover, from local guides and small businesses to families whose livelihoods depend on tourism.
For full verification and real-time updates, we always encourage you to check directly with the Nepal Tourism Board (toll-free: 1234, hotline: 1144) or the Tourist Police (+977 9851289445), please don't rely on unverified information from social media.
Nepal is resilient. Nepal is healing. And Nepal is ready to welcome you, safely, warmly, and with open arms. 💛
Come heal with us. We are here. We are ready.
