Sankata F.C🔴 have added serious experience to their squad with the signing of Mozambican🇲🇿 player Lucia Leila Jose, announced just hours before their ANFA Women’s Championship 2026 quarter-final clash.
The 32-year-old former Mozambique🇲🇿 women’s national team defender, who has played professionally in Portugal🇵🇹, Denmark🇩🇰, and Israel🇮🇱, made an immediate impact on debut after coming on in the second half, scoring a brace (63’, 80’) to help Sankata F.C🔴 secure a 4–1 win over Church Boys United⚪ and book a semi-final spot.
Interestingly, she is the only foreign player featuring in this tournament despite clubs being allowed three overseas signings, immediately making Sankata F.C🔴 one of the most intriguing teams in the competition.
Now, all eyes turn to a blockbuster semi-final on 19 February 2026, where Sankata F.C🔴 will face departmental giants APF F.C🟠, a clash that promises experience versus dominance, and a major test of whether this foreign reinforcement can tilt the balance in Sankata’s favor. 🔥👀
