The derivation of word, Nepal is subject a number of different theories (Sanskrit) nipa laya means at foot of mountains or abode at foot,, Nepal may be derived from this means In (Tibetan) ni pal means holy land. Nepal may be derived from this means some inhabitants of northern Nepal came from Tibet where they herded sheep and produced wool. Pāla means "protector" or "taking care" so Nepal reflected the name sage who took care place according to Nepali scholar.
