Mira Rai -Day 1 series begins

Mira Rai is one of Nepal’s most inspiring athletes. Her journey from a remote village in eastern Nepal to becoming an internationally famous trail runner is known around the world.

Mira Rai was born on 31 December 1988 in Bhojpur District, eastern Nepal.
She grew up in a very poor farming family with several siblings.
Her village was remote, with difficult mountain trails and limited facilities.
From childhood, she walked and ran long distances carrying water, rice, salt, grass, and other household supplies through steep hills.
Her family struggled financially, and she had to leave school around age 12 because they could not afford her education and she needed to help at home.

This initiative is a small gesture of gratitude and respect to all Nepali athletes who continue to give their best, breaking limits and representing the nation with pride. Through their incredible life journeys, they not only achieve greatness in sports but also inspire and motivate us every day.
