'There were problems from the very first day. The players were kept in a hostel-like hotel. The food was bad. I asked whether it was a budget issue or something else. Although I was appointed as the head coach, I was kept in a separate hotel, away from the team. I said everyone should stay in the same hotel. They tried to offer me a three-star hotel, but I demanded a four-star one. At that point, ANFA officials already felt that working with this coach wouldn't be easy. But everything I asked for was for the players. After all, ANFA is supposed to work for the players and for football.

Even choosing the captain became a point of contention. Sabitra Bhandari is the best player Nepal has ever had. Without her, it was difficult for Nepal to win. Geeta Rana and Saraswati Hamal are also excellent players. Despite all the disputes, all the players put it behind them and played well. Sometimes, there wasn’t even ice available at the hotel. Can you imagine not being able to provide ice? I’m not like other coaches who just drink coffee and give instructions to players. I’m different. Putting pressure by saying “do this” or “do that” is not good for football.

Does anyone even know what my salary is? I didn’t come to Nepal to make money. If I didn’t come here to make money, why should I work under pressure from others? One should be allowed to work independently — only then can good results come. That’s all there is to it.'

Just days ago, Diogo Jota got married…
A beautiful new chapter had just begun.
He had three small babies, innocent souls who now have to grow up without their father. 🥹

And now… he’s gone. So young. So suddenly. Why?

Who is writing these scripts of life?
Why do the good ones, the ones full of love, purpose, and dreams get taken away?
Why do criminals, corrupt souls, and heartless people continue to walk this earth… while families like Jota’s are left shattered, broken, forever incomplete?

This is beyond tragic.
It’s heartbreaking.
It’s unfair.
