Every place has a story. This is ours. ❤️
People often ask us,

"Why did you create InnerVillage?"
The answer didn't begin with a retreat or a business idea.
It began more than 17 years ago with one simple question:

"Why should education create fear instead of curiosity?"
That question led to the creation of Peace for People, introduced us to the incredible MasterPeace family, and eventually inspired InnerVillage—a place where people from around the world can slow down, reconnect with themselves, experience authentic village life, and discover the beauty of genuine human connection.

Today, we're deeply honoured that MasterPeace has shared this journey in its Champions Edition.

If you've ever wondered why InnerVillage is different, this article shares the story behind it.

Thank you to everyone who has walked alongside us. The journey is still unfolding, and we're excited to welcome many more people from around the world into our village, our family, and this shared vision.

For many years, children and young people in our village have loved sports.
They play wherever they can — on small paths, open spaces, and uneven ground. Their enthusiasm has never been the problem.
The challenge has always been having a safe and proper place to play.
Today, we are proud to say that we have taken a small but meaningful step toward changing that.

This is not yet a complete sports ground. There is still a long way to go. We still need resources, equipment, coaching, organization, and many other things. But every meaningful journey starts with a first step, and today that step became real.

What makes this even more special is that it was not done by one person alone. It happened because people came together with a shared belief that young people deserve a space where they can play, grow, learn teamwork, and simply enjoy being children.

A special thank you to the three amazing human from the Netherlands who played an important role in making this first step possible. Your support, energy, and commitment have already made a difference in the lives of many children and young people here.

This is only the beginning.

We hope this small ground will one day become much more than a place to play. We hope it becomes a place where friendships grow, confidence develops, teams are formed, and opportunities are created for future generations.

Today we celebrate a small action.

Tomorrow we continue the journey.

Today is International Yoga Day.

Over the years, yoga has become much more than physical postures for me.

It has taught me to slow down when life feels rushed.
To breathe when challenges arise.
To listen more deeply.
To be more present with myself and others.

Some of my most important lessons have not come from a Only ASANA but from bringing the spirit of yoga into everyday life — into relationships, community, service, nature, and the way I choose to live.

Yoga reminds me that true well-being is not something we achieve. It is something we practice, one breath, one step, and one moment at a time.

Grateful to all the teachers, students, and fellow travelers who continue to walk this path together.

When I was a child, nobody asked me what I wanted to learn today.
Life simply happened around me.
I followed my grandfather to the fields.
I learned where food came from.
I listened to stories.
I climbed trees.
I got muddy.
I made friends.
Years later, I find myself watching children from around the world experience many of those same things in our village.
And it makes me wonder...
What if some of the most important lessons in childhood aren't taught at all?
What if they're simply lived?
I recently wrote a reflection about this after spending time with children and families in our village.
