Weekly Mental Health & Psychoeducation Sessions in Action!

Mental health is just as important as physical health, and prioritizing youth well-being equips students with the resilience to thrive both in and out of the classroom. Local schools are prioritizing student well-being with continuous weekly sessions and psychoeducation sessions. This meaningful impact is brought to life through a successful collaboration between WorldLink Communications ,Psychdesk Foundation, and Mahakali Municipality.

Today, on World Su***de Prevention Day, we stand together to break the silence and build hope. Over 300 students across schools of Mahakali Municipality participated in impactful mental health and su***de prevention awareness program today. This program was made possible through the joint efforts of Mahakali Municipality, WorldLink Communications, and Psychdesk Foundation. Together, we are building a safer, more supportive community for our youth.

Su***de Prevention Program in Mahakali Municipality, Darchula

A Su***de Prevention and Awareness Program was organized in Mahakali Municipality, Darchula, Sudurpashchim Province, Nepal, as a joint initiative of WorldLink Communications and Mahakali Municipality.

The program brought together 53 key local stakeholders, including the Deputy Mayor, Chief Administrative Officer, Ward Chairpersons representing all wards, representatives from all municipal departments, Health Post In-charges, Female Community Health Volunteers (FCHVs) and Nepal Police representatives.

The main presentation on su***de prevention was delivered by Teeka Khatri, Psychologist and Program Coordinator at Psychdesk Foundation. The presentation focused on strengthening understanding of su***de prevention and mental health, including early identification of individuals at risk, recognizing warning signs, providing psychological support, appropriate referral to health and mental health services, reducing stigma, and strengthening community-based support systems.

The program emphasized the importance of multi-sectoral collaboration and coordinated action among government agencies, educational institutions, health services, security agencies, local government, teachers, and community representatives. Such collaboration is essential for identifying people at risk early, providing timely support, and ensuring appropriate referral and follow-up.

The active participation of representatives from multiple sectors demonstrated a strong commitment to addressing su***de as an important public health and community concern. The program also highlighted the need to create supportive environments where individuals experiencing emotional or psychological distress can seek help without fear of stigma or discrimination.

The joint initiative by WorldLink Communications and Mahakali Municipality, with the participation of key district and local stakeholders, represents an important step toward strengthening mental health awareness, early intervention, community support, and sustainable su***de prevention efforts in Mahakali Municipality and across Darchula District.

आज सेप्टेम्बर १०—विश्व आत्महत्या रोकथाम दिवस २०२६
यस वर्षको विश्वव्यापी सन्देश हो—“संवाद सुरु गरौँ, दृष्टिकोण बदलौँ।”

यस अवसरमा Psychdesk Foundation र WorldLink Communications को CSR Initiative, महाकाली नगरपालिका, दार्चुला सँगको सहकार्यमा मानसिक स्वास्थ्य प्रवर्द्धन तथा आत्महत्या रोकथामसम्बन्धी सचेतना र समुदायस्तरीय संवादका कार्यक्रमहरू सञ्चालन गर्दैछौँ।

जीवनका कठिन परिस्थिति, तनाव, पारिवारिक तथा सामाजिक चुनौती, निराशा र एक्लोपनले कहिलेकाहीँ मानिसलाई अत्यन्त कठिन मानसिक अवस्थामा पुर्‍याउन सक्छ। यस्तो समयमा आत्महत्याको विचार आउन सक्ने भए पनि सही समयमा प्राप्त साथ, सहयोग, परामर्श र उपचारले जीवन बचाउन सकिन्छ।

त्यसैले—

- मनका कुरा खुलेर साझा गरौँ।
- एकअर्काको कुरा ध्यानपूर्वक सुनौँ।
- निराशामा रहेका व्यक्तिलाई दोष होइन, साथ दिऔँ।
- आत्महत्याको विचार आएमा तुरुन्तै विश्वासिलो व्यक्ति तथा मानसिक स्वास्थ्य विशेषज्ञसँग सहयोग लिऔँ।
- मानसिक स्वास्थ्य सेवाका लागि सहयोग माग्न कहिल्यै नहिचकिचाऔँ।

आत्महत्याको विचार कठिन समय र मानसिक तनावका कारण जो-कोहीलाई पनि आउन सक्छ।त्यसैले मानसिक स्वास्थ्यबारे खुलेर कुरा गर्ने, सहयोग माग्ने र एकअर्काको ख्याल राख्ने संस्कार विकास गरौँ।

Successful conducted an impactful psychoeducation session on mental health awareness and su***de prevention at Mahendra Secondary School, Darchula, engaging nearly 60 participants. This initiative was successfully organized in collaboration with Mahakali Municipality, WorldLink Communications and PsychDesk Foundation to foster open dialogue and break stigmas.
