Lofoten Masters was first arranged in Unstad - Lofoten in 2007 by Lofoten Ekstremsportklubb (then named Lofoten Board Union). The competition was started to gather the norwegian and scandinavian surfing community.

Challenging winds and shifting conditions set the stage for this years Lofoten Masters at Flakstad beach, but the competitors rose to the occasion with powerful surfing.

Todays winners:
Men’s Champion: Thiago Luna Albuquerque – consistent and sharp all day.

Women’s Champion: Tuva Børsheim – locked in the event’s highest single wave score (7.17) in the final to secure the title.

Junior Champion: Sander Remkes – taking out the junior final and pushing all the way to the men’s semifinal.

Final Call – Lofoten Masters

The competition will kick off at Flakstad tomorrow at 09:00.
The goal is to surf Steinen, with Flakstad beach as a backup option.

Important: The Nappstraumen tunnel is only open every half hour before 09:00, and once per hour after 09:00. Please plan accordingly so you don´t miss your heat, and check updated info here:

Food and coffee will be available for purchase, and competitors will have access to the changing rooms. A sauna is available for participants at NOK 100 per hour.

Please use the designated parking area and avoid the grass, as it is very wet.

We are looking forward to seeing many spectators!

To all participants: Skippers meeting moved to 19:00, check e-mail.

Start time and location for the event will be published after the skippers meeting.

Registration is now closed, and we’ll be able to run the entire competition in one day.

For logistical reasons, we are locking in the competition day on Saturday.

The forecast is still tricky to read, so a final decision on the location will not be made until the skippers’ meeting on Friday evening at 20:00.

Participants will receive an e-mail with info about where the skippers meeting will be.

We’re getting ready for this year’s Lofoten Masters, set to run Friday, Saturday or Sunday – depending on when the best conditions are.

We hope to see many local surfers signing up last minute – there’s plenty of swell on the forecast, and everything’s lining up for an epic competition, if the wind plays along.

📍 There will be no livestream this year, which gives us more freedom to chase the best waves and wind.
Primary spot: Unstad
Backup: Flakstad

The final call on where we’ll surf will be made together with the judges and announced Wednesday or Thursday.
