Are you an international researcher at NTNU, or the spouse/partner of an international employee?
In partnership with NTNU NIRS, I’m pleased to invite you to a new interactive workshop next Thursday, June 4: Priorities and Progress: Staying Focused on Your Career and Wellbeing in Uncertain Times
Global uncertainty can make it difficult to stay focused, motivated, and emotionally grounded - especially while building a career and life in academia abroad. This workshop is designed to support international researchers navigating those challenges.
Through guided reflection and practical exercises, participants will explore:
• how attention, worry, digital habits, and internal pressure affect focus and wellbeing
• strategies for regaining clarity and direction
• practical tools for protecting energy and strengthening boundaries
• ways to focus more intentionally on what is within their control and influence
The workshop draws on frameworks such as the circles of control, mental “saboteurs,” and self-compassion practices inspired by Kristin Neff.
Participants will leave with greater self-awareness, practical tools, and a small set of realistic actions to support both career growth and personal wellbeing.
