During the 00’s we jealously watched our friend’s freeride skis be revolutionized, while the snowboard industry remained stagnant. Long sidecut radius and camber under foot were combined with rocker and reverse sidecut towards the tip and tail of the skis. The result was skis that had better stability, floatation and were more effortless to ride. It seemed obvious that these modifications would wo

rk for snowboards as well. So in 2009 we decided to found Furberg Snowboards. The shape that revolutionized freeride skis turned out to work just as well on snowboards. Furberg Snowboards is currently considered to be the most innovative snowboard brand on the market and is constantly refining their boards for higher performance and better quality.

For 2022/23, the Freeride Split has been reshaped for improved response at lower speeds without losing the high-speed stability Furberg is known for, making it our most versatile splitboard to date.

Here are a few of the new features on the 2022/23 Freeride Split:

- 9,2m - 11m radius depending on size. The sweet spot in our opinion when you need a board that can do it all.

- Rounded corners to prevent the nose from catching the wall of the skin track when touring. It also makes the board more durable.
 - Extra heel riser inserts for better hardboot compatibility.

The Big Mtn Split is an improved version of the shape previously called Freeride Split.
Its directional shape and long turning radius makes it our most capable big mountain splitboard to date, designed to excel in the most rugged mountain ranges.

Here are a few of the new features for 2022/23:

- New rocker/camber profile for more support outside the bindings and improved pop.

- Equipped with top mount Spark R&D Fixie Clips, eliminating screw heads on the base.

- Extra heel riser inserts for better hardboot compatibility.

- Updated ash/poplar/paulownia woodcore for an optimal balance between weight and durability.

The Freeride - our most versatile resort board to date.

When designing the new Freeride, we wanted to make board that handled everything from hard charging freeriding to cruising groomers in the afternoon. The 9,8 m sidecut gives you incredible stability at speeds and the edge grip you need for freeriding, while being short enough to enjoy groomers without having to go at mach 1.

The rocker in combination with reverse sidecut in nose and tail loosens the tip and tail, making it incredibly catch-free and easy to pivot in soft snow or tracked out snow.

In our humble (but biased) opinion, we have succeeded at making the optimal freeride that can handle it all.

Congrats .o on the 1st place at the North Face Frontier freeride contest in New Zealand!

After a season full of cancelled contests, .o finally got to compete in her first four star event, where she took home the victory.

We’re looking forward to following Melissa and her adventures this winter!
