Vi har saltvann i blodårene, fra gammelt av. Hvilket denne historien fra Andøyposten sin fine juleutgave illustrerer. Vi legger den ut her, som en liten julegave til våre følgere. Georg var vår oldefar, og var en havets mann. Historien kan gi et litt feil inntrykk av at han ikke lyttet til advarsler. Da, som nå, var ikke værmeldingen tilstrekkelig. Man må ut i Havet; observere, lytte, lukte, føle. Og hvis du føler hun er farlig, så tar du ansvar. Dette krever en dypere forståelse, fra dag til dag. Denne forståelsen kan vi dele med de som er villige til å lytte. Og lytt til dette: la Havet få være i fred de neste dagene. Ta vare, God Jul og Godt nyttår 🎅🤙💙

Our two first boards: The Seagull (Stormåsen) and The Cormorant (Storskarven) 🤍🖤

Next up: Asymmetrical Andøya 🤙
Then, in no particular order: The Fat Halibutt, Finless Fredrik, Eggakanten, The Seaeagle, The Orca 💪

The Cormorant is a tribute to the way these majestic birds surf the ocean: low and fast, with a quick pivot. The single concave to flat bottom, straightened fins pulled forward and boxy rails makes it faster than the wind over Kjølhågen 💣

Ainnes Surf City 🤙
It's not frequent Surf here 🛹 But, when it's on, it’s as good as the whalesafari, the view from the Lighthouse, the craftmanship at Andenes Båtservice, the smell of Jangaard and jetfuel in the morning, the food at Arresten, the concrete at Andøy Aktivitetspark- even the refreshments at Mea pub 🙏
Now, we're off on a surf trip 💙🤍
