Over 100 players participated in the Arena and one of our players placed 1st and therefore ready for semi-finals and probably the final. These matches will be streamed on Twitch and Youtube at 18:00. Please watch if you are interested and support our player . Hopefully, we will take the victory 😎

Today our Chess Society played against the largest club in Norway for a chance to promote to the 3rd division in the Norwegian Chess League. We were underdogs and lower rated in each table. However, our players were glowing with big brain energy and managed to win 3 1/2 - 1/2. Which means that we will play in the 3rd division this upcoming season 🥇

Sunday 06.11 we played our first Chess League match this season. Our team played really well and won easily 3.5 - 0.5 💪 Which also means that we currently are on top of the table. An extra congratulation to Vetle Volleng who won in his debut 😎

Last Sunday we played a match against the University of Oslo. Our first seed team had a crushing victory 12,5 - 3,5. Unfortunately, our 2, 3 and 4. seed lost. The total score was 30,5 - 46,5. This was a really exciting match and a wonderful experience, especially for our new members. Most importantly it was really fun! We are already looking forward to the next time 🤩♟

We had a competition at our stand on Recruitment Day last week. There were many people that joined our games and scored really high. However, the player that scored the highest and won the lottery afterward were Oskar Bjørkum. Congratulations on winning the first prize!
On further note thanks to everybody that visited our stand and applied for our society. We have sent out all admission letters now, so please message us if you have not got any reply.

The day you all have been waiting for is near. Tomorrow is Recruitment day, which means we are open to receive applications to our club. You are all welcome to visit our stand tomorrow. We can assure you that it will be entertaining and a lot of fun. You can play against one of our members, solve puzzles, play memory games and more. We will also have a competition with awesome prizes (the 1st prize is reeeally sweet 😎).

The annual Norwegian Championship was played 05-13. July. This is the biggest tournament in Norway with 543 participants this year, where you play for the title of Norwegian Champion. Which means that the strongest players in Norway (except Magnus Carlsen) was playing in the Elite Class. Our very own Kristian Stuvik Holm managed to outstandingly place third among a strong field of masters, just half a point behind the winner. We in BI Athletics Sjakk wants to congratulate for exceptional performance 🎉🎉🏆
