The 2026 Whitehorizon expedition is officially over. All participants both on the ice cap and 'back offices' are safely back where they belong. Looking at the progress on the track it all went smoothly, however behind the scenes things were happening. The diversion to DYE 2 was a result of wind conditions developing. Fighting up-wind with fully loaded pulks is not ideal, better to enjoy some nice downwind looping. And as a bonus James got to enjoy DYE 2 before deciding to return to Kangar with Haakon. Heading North were Mari, Chris and Camilla who really got to enjoy the Ice Cap on its best terms. It all went smooth until Camp 10, then the weather office went 'off line'! Some 'emergency plumbing' (stent) was urgently needed, but not available on the island. Luckily it got fixed by a ferry trip and a welcoming hospital at he mainland, but the team was without their normal forecast for a few days until I came back around camp 18. Most important we got them down to the Bowdon fjord and to Quaanaq safe and sound. Thank you all fore following us on another epic Whitehorizon expedition.
