Norlender Knitwear as

Norlender Knitwear as Kind wool 🌿 Sustainably made at our family factory in Norway with wool from happy Norwegian sheep!🐑 Norlender is a different clothing manufacturer.

In the fjord on the west coast of Norway, Norlender has designed and produced textiles of the highest quality since 1927. Today, four generations later we still produce sustainable knitwear in Norway with a goal to care for both the animals, nature, design and people - both in the factory and around us. We are a small factory with a big desire to make kind woolen clothes for kind people! Precisely for this reason, (maybe) the world's most sustainable wool sweater is made at our factory! We work every day to have happy workers (both factory employees, farmers and sheep) and sustainable products. We make garments locally on our factory on Osterøy, with knowledge and experience that has been passed down from generation to generation. A traditional style or a modern style, both are inspired by by the rough North Sea with natural thermal qualities that will keep you warm on the boat or in the mountains, in the city streets and on cool summer evening. With your Norlender sweater you are supporting a sustainable clothing industry. And, feel free to ask us about qualities, patterns or how you can take care of your wool garments so that they last longer.

His Majesty King Harald V
1937–2026

Today, Norway has lost a beloved King.

We will remember King Harald for his warmth, kindness and lifelong service to our country — but also for his love of the sea, the outdoors and Norwegian nature.

A King who was deeply connected to the country and the people he represented.

Nordsjø • Built for the sea and made in Norway from Norwegian wool. Nordsjø is a hard-wearing sweater inspired by traditional coastal workwear. Its reversible construction means there’s no front or back, simply turn it around and wear the 1927 signature on either side. Practical, durable, and made for years of use.

Thank you, Håsong kunstfestival • What a weekend it was. We’re incredibly grateful to Håsong for letting Norlender be such a big part of this year’s festival. It was a pleasure to open our factory to art, music, history, and so many wonderful visitors.

A special thank you to Osterøykoret for the beautiful concert in our factory. Hearing the choir fill our historic sewing room with songa was a truly memorable experience.

The highlight for us is also the exhibition featuring the remarkable photographs of Knut Mo. The exhibition has created a unique connection between our factory, our local history, and the people who have lived and worked along the fjord for generations.

The good news is that the exhibition will remain at Norlender throughout the summer, and we hope many more of you will come and experience it.

Summer opening hours:
Monday–Friday • 09:00–15:00
Saturday–Sunday • 11:00–16:00

We look forward to welcoming you to our historical knitwear factory this summer!

Håsong Art Festival • This weekend, we’re proud to host the exhibition “The Osterfjord Over 100 Years Ago” at our factory.

The exhibition features remarkable photographs taken by Knut Moe between 1913 and 1917, capturing everyday life, people, farms, and communities around the Osterfjord more than a century ago.

There is a special connection to Norlender in these historical photographs. One of the images features Ola Tveiten, the founder of our factory, together with his son Odd. For us, this makes the exhibition much more than a collection of historic images — it becomes part of the story of this place and the people who helped shape it.

Displayed inside a working knitwear factory that has been part of the fjord landscape for generations, these photographs create a unique meeting between past and present.
