International Women’s Day 🌟

Today we celebrate the incredible women across the UK Armed Forces who are part of our ice sports community — competing, coaching and supporting across skeleton, bobsleigh and luge. From the Army, Royal Navy and RAF, our female athletes continue to demonstrate the courage, determination and teamwork that define both military service and sliding sport.

Whether taking their first steps as novices or racing alongside some of the world’s best, the women in our programmes continue to raise the standard season after season. Their commitment on and off the ice helps drive the sport forward and inspires the next generation of sliders coming through the start house.

Today we recognise not only the athletes on the track, but also the coaches, staff and supporters who play such a vital role behind the scenes. Your dedication, professionalism and team spirit make our ice sports community stronger every year.

Happy International Women’s Day to all the women representing the Army, Royal Navy and RAF in skeleton, bobsleigh and luge. 💪❄️

Interservices 2026 🏁

What a way to wrap up the 25/26 season for the Army Skeleton team. This year showed exactly what makes our sport so special, novices taking their first competitive runs alongside athletes who competed at the most recent Olympic Games. Seeing that mix of experience, courage and determination on the same start line is what Interservices is all about.

The men’s race was one of the closest we’ve seen in years, with hundredths of a second separating positions and every run counting right down to the final sled. The level across the field continues to rise, and it’s a credit to the effort being put in by everyone involved.

A huge thank you goes to the coaches, support staff and organisers working behind the scenes to make these camps and competitions happen. Without their time and dedication, none of this would be possible.

Finally, to all the athletes, from first-year sliders finding their feet to experienced competitors pushing the standard higher every season. Thank you for the commitment, professionalism and team spirit you bring to the track.

Bring on next season. 💪🇬🇧

INTER SERVICES WEEK 1
For the first week of the Inter Service Championships, the athletes have been working hard alongside their coach, Craig Thompson, to develop and build their confidence on the track in Lillehammer.
Huge progress has been made by all the athletes and they will continue to improve as we move into the next few days, ready for the Inter Services Championship race on Thursday and Friday.
