New Hope for Folgefonna!

After Visit Fonna AS filed for bankruptcy in autumn 2024, passionate people from the region and the Norwegian ski community stepped forward to save summer skiing on the glacier.

We’re proud to announce that Fonna Sport AS has now been founded—together with Hordaland Ski Association and Agder & Rogaland Ski Association. This marks a new chapter for Folgefonna, with sports and youth development at the heart of our vision.

Fonna Sport AS is now in close dialogue with the bankruptcy trustee to take over essential equipment and the lift system. Our ambitious goal: to bring skiing back to Folgefonna by May 2025.

We want to make skiing in summer accessible for athletes, youth, locals, and the international community. Thank you for believing in this new beginning.

Beklageligvis er det meldt tykk tåke imorgen på Fonna og vi ser oss derfor nødt til å holde stengt for turister.
Dette er av sikkerhetsmessige årsaker.
Vi beklager veldig dette men dessverre utenfor vår kontroll.
I og med at morgendagen skulle være vår siste dag for sesongen vil dette si at sesongen på Fonna for turister dessverre er over for i år!
Vi takker alle som har benyttet seg av Fonna i år og ønsker alle hjertelig tilbake til en forhåpentligvis lengre sesong til neste år!

Come and enjoy the last week of public skiing. Our park and our two slopes for our tourists are in very good condition 🏂⛷️

For safety reasons, the last day to ski in the park and make turns on the slopes is Sunday 28 July 💙
