Do you remember your first bark boat? Your first home-made bow and arrow? It is made to be used.

Or what about the first time you gutted a fish you had caught yourself? For a Norwegian, it is most likely that he or she would have used a Helle knife. Whereas many knife manufacturers today depend on automated production and large product lines, we depend on quality and production through craftsmanship. Since 1932, Helle knives represented the very highest traditions of quality in Norwegian craftsmanship. Despite its aestethic qualities, a Helle knife is not made to be an ornament.

The 🔪 of the month for August is the Sigmund.

Designed by Torodd Helle in honor of his father and Helle founder, Sigmund features a classic stacked handle and a mirror-polised, Scandi H3LS blade. The sheath is made using original 1950s tooling that embosses the leather during the wet-press.

In this way the Sigmund manifests Helle's believe in the continued appeal of classic, Scandinavian 🔪 design and production.

HELLE OPEN DAY 2026
We are back up and running after our summer break 💪 And the one thing that is really on our mind right now is that we are just a few weeks away from our second ever Helle Open Day 🔥

On Saturday the 29th of August we are holding our second ever Helle Open Day at our Factory in Holmedal on the West Coast of Norway. From 10am to 3pm you have the chance to see - and try - some of the hard work and craftsmanship that goes into a Helle knife 🎉

There will be a factory tour and you will of course get to try how steady your knife production hand is. And this year we are offering two knife skills introductory courses as well, featuring some some familier and very qualified instructors. 🔪

We sent out the info to our newsletter followers a few weeks ago and tickets sold fast. We have just added a few more to the webshop though, so if you are interested in joing us, please go to helle.com to purchase your ticket today. This will be a small and intimate event, so there are only 40 tickets available 👷👷‍♀️

We hope to see you in Holmedal on the 29th 🏞🏭
