✨ Some athletes impress you not only because of their results, but because of the way they work every single day to become better

Ana Brandus is one of them.

Coming from Romania 🇷🇴, a smaller orienteering nation where the training environment, structures and international experience are not as developed as in the Nordic countries, Ana has not always had the same opportunities around her as many of the athletes she competes against. But what she does have is something very powerful: talent, persistence, and a deep motivation to grow

During this year working together, I have been truly impressed by her determination, commitment and willingness to learn. She is consistent, curious, and never afraid of doing the hard work that long-term development requires. As a coach, it is extremely rewarding to be able to contribute, even in a small way, to the journey of such a motivated athlete

These days at EYOC in Slovenia 🇸🇮, Ana showed clear signs of progress with two solid races in W18: 13th and 18th place. More than the positions themselves, what matters is what they represent: another step forward, another confirmation that her level is growing, and that her work is moving in the right direction.

It is a real pleasure to work with an athlete like Ana 👊🏼

Now the journey continues towards JWOC, where the main goal is simple: to learn, to gain experience, and to enjoy her first racing experience in Scandinavia.

🇸🇪 World Cup #2 2026 Sweden: The Sprint Puzzle Moves to Skara

At the end of May, the 2026 Orienteering World Cup continues in Sweden, with Skara and Lidköping hosting the second round of the season from 28 to 31 May. After the opening sprint weekend in Locarno and Ascona, the World Cup now moves into another pure sprint block: Knock-Out Sprint in Lidköping, followed by Individual Sprint and Sprint Relay in Skara. The format is familiar. The challenge will not be.
