NIET IEDEREEN PAST BINNEN ONS NETWERK. EN DAT IS PRIMA. 😘

Soms krijgen we berichten van klanten waar we toch even stil van worden.

💬 “Laat het geld maar op jouw rekening storten.”

💬 “We’ve never met, but I really trust you.”

Internationale kopers die ons vertrouwen om een paard voor hen te selecteren, soms zonder zelf naar Nederland te komen.

Dat vertrouwen is niet vanzelfsprekend. En daar zijn we ontzettend trots op. 🤍

Maar eerlijk is eerlijk: niet iedere samenwerking verloopt zoals je hoopt. 🥲
Onlangs werd een paard via een door ons aangebrachte koper verkocht. Een mooie match, precies waarvoor ons netwerk bedoeld is.
Helaas ontstond er achteraf discussie over de commissie.
En dat vinden we jammer!

Want professioneel zijn in de paardenwereld betekent niet automatisch professioneel zakendoen.
JLHorses is geen hobby. Achter ons netwerk zitten jaren werk, meer dan 100 paarden en pony’s, contacten met kopers in binnen- en buitenland, tijd en investeringen.

Daarom zijn we selectief. Niet alleen in de paarden die we vertegenwoordigen, maar ook in de mensen met wie we samenwerken.
En ja, we hebben ook een interne lijst van mensen met wie we liever geen tweede samenwerking aangaan 😏

Niet omdat iemand een paard niet koopt of een andere mening heeft.
Maar omdat eerlijkheid, wederzijds respect en het nakomen van afspraken voor ons de basis zijn.

Een sterk netwerk bouw je niet alleen door mensen toe te laten. Je beschermt het ook door grenzen te stellen.
Gelukkig werken we dagelijks met fantastische kopers, verkopers en professionals die dat vertrouwen wél wederzijds maken.

En juist voor die mensen blijven we ons iedere dag inzetten. 🤍

Een goede naam opbouwen kost jaren. Respecteren wat je afspreekt, zou vanzelfsprekend moeten zijn.

A BEAUTIFUL SALES VIDEO DOESN’T TELL YOU EVERYTHING. 👀

Before buying a horse overseas, think about what you actually need to know.

🏆 Looking for a competition horse?

Ask for a FULL competition video. Not just the highlights or the best movements.

You want to see the entire test. How does the horse handle the atmosphere? Does it stay focused? How does it respond when something doesn’t go perfectly?

🐴 Looking for a safe, experienced horse as an amateur rider?

Ask to see the horse with a less experienced rider.

A horse can look incredible with a professional in the saddle. But how much support does it actually need?

Does it stay relaxed? Is it forgiving? Does it tolerate mistakes without becoming tense?

🦄 Looking for a talented young horse?

You may want to see something completely different: natural balance, willingness, basic rideability and how the horse responds to new situations.

The point? Don’t just ask for more videos. Ask for the RIGHT videos.

And if you’re buying from overseas, you don’t necessarily have to fly to Europe to find out.

PAARDEN ZIJN ONZE PASSIE. JLHORSES IS ONS BEDRIJF 🫶

JLHorses is ooit begonnen vanuit onze liefde voor paarden.
Maar inmiddels is het geen hobby die we er ’s avonds een uurtje bij doen. Het is ons werk. Ons bedrijf.
En daar horen soms ook duidelijke grenzen bij. 😉

Een eerste gesprek is natuurlijk vrijblijvend.
Maar vrijblijvend betekent niet dat onze tijd onbeperkt gratis is.

Nee, we zijn niet 24/7 bereikbaar.
Ook al werken we internationaal en zijn we flexibel met verschillende tijdzones.

Nee, we rijden niet “even” een paar uur om een paard te bekijken zonder eerst goede video’s te hebben gezien.
Onze tijd én die van de verkoper is waardevol.

Nee, we nemen niet ieder paard aan.
We werken bewust binnen een specifieke markt en doelgroep. Als we niet denken dat wij de juiste partij zijn om een paard te verkopen, zeggen we dat ook.

Ja, we rekenen commissie wanneer een paard via ons netwerk wordt verkocht.
Want je betaalt niet voor één telefoontje of één Facebook-post.

Je betaalt voor het netwerk dat we jarenlang hebben opgebouwd. Voor onze naam. Ons bereik. Onze tijd. De contacten. De selectie. De communicatie. De onderhandelingen. En uiteindelijk voor het bij elkaar brengen van koper en verkoper.

🚨 INTERNATIONAL HORSE BUYERS: STOLEN VIDEOS ARE REAL

It sounds crazy, but it happens. 🤯

Videos and photos are sometimes taken from other advertisements and used to “sell” a completely different horse.
Even X-rays and veterinary reports can be presented as belonging to another horse.

So how do you protect yourself when buying remotely?

1. Ask for an identification video
Ask for one continuous video showing a full walk around the horse — including the face, markings and all four legs. This makes it much easier to compare the horse with the sales and riding videos.

2. Verify the passport & microchip
During the PPE, have the passport shown on video and ask the veterinarian to scan and verify the microchip. The identity needs to match the horse standing in front of them.

3. Document the PPE
Especially when buying internationally, ask for the examination to be documented properly and make sure the X-rays and reports can be linked to the correct horse.

4. Choose your own independent veterinarian
Whenever possible, use a veterinarian you selected yourself — not simply whoever the seller suggests.

5. Know who you’re buying from
A beautiful sales video tells you very little about who is actually behind the sale.

Working with an established agent with real clients, verifiable results and a reputation to protect adds another layer of security when purchasing internationally.
