Tomorrow we will head to America to celebrate the life of my dad, Robert (Bob) Walsh. My dad was a huge supporter of my sister and I, he always believed in us. I’m grateful for the wonderful childhood he and my mom created for us. Constantly inspiring us to go for what makes us happy. He was always there to drive me to horse shows, hold horses, say something positive after a bad day etc etc. His love for following along as we hunted with Piedmont was easy to see, the smile on his face when he watched us jump from field to field or gallop passed his car is imprinted in my mind forever. He enjoyed everything to do with horses even though he didn’t grow up with them. When I left home for school and work he took so much pride in taking care of our retired horses at the farm. The farm in Bluemont was his happy place and I’m thankful he could stay there as long as he did. My mom took care of him as a loyal partner even after difficult times in their relationship. I know he was, and my sister and I are, forever grateful for the care and love she showed him to the end. Dementia took him from us slowly and we watched him fade away over a course of 7 years. It was time now for him to let go of this body and be free of it. He peacefully moved to the other side with my mom and my sister by his side on the 22nd of December. I’m thankful we all had the chance to say our goodbyes and thank him for the life he provided us together with my mom. Rest easy dad, thank you for the memories and I’m glad your free.❤️
