All good things come to an end…

Including this wild and crazy adventure. Iris left the campaign in July. And unfortunately at this moment I (Bea) can't find the right way to complete this mission by myself or within another/new team. So I have decided to pull the pin and focus on new adventures for now. Non will be as big and comprehensive as this salty journey but surely it will be challenging and fun, starting straight after my broken wrist heals (no exciting fighting-a- polar-bear-story there >

Sad news…
Due to personal reasons Iris unfortunately had to decide not to undertake this rowing challenge.

I, Bea, still hope to continue this Salty Journey and eventually cross the Atlantic in december 2023 (but possibly in 2025). The upcoming time I will take my time to look for a new rowing- and campaign partner and a way to make this enormous adventure possible!

Are you, or do you know somebody that is up for an epic trip? Let me know.

Wegens persoonlijke omstandigheden heeft Iris helaas moeten besluiten het roeiavontuur op dit moment niet aan te gaan.

Ik, Bea, hoop in december 2023 (maar mogelijk in 2025) deze Salty Journey alsnog te ondernemen. De komende tijd ga ik gebruiken om op zoek te gaan naar een nieuwe roei- en campagne partner en een manier om dit gigantische avontuur alsnog mogelijk te maken.

Check out this hybrid! 🤟

To not be fully depending on our asses moving themselves towards Rotterdam or Vlietland for every training we took this Oarboard for a testrun! It turns a normal SUP board into a completely functional rowing rig which we can take on most waters in and around the Netherlands. We love it ❤ and possible have to get one for ourselves 🤣 . Anyone experienced in training on something similar for a longer period of time?

Had a super nice training this weekend! Some struggles to keep the boat in the wind. Might be her lenght or it might be our strenght!? We keep on training ánd learning!

💪❤ first time out on the water with DORI!

What an awesome day it was!

We named our trainingsboat 'DORI'! Made a new rudder system (Iris and Erik went extremely professional Mcgyver on this, it works like a charm). Stickered name and sponsors on it (there is still lots of space left for the interested 😉) and... finally did a first row out on the water!

DORI does a great job. Needs some small adjustments on footplates and oars but we are looking forward rowing lots and lots more, get some water training in to get that 3000 miles done wisely!

PPM Concepts & Projects thanx for the stickers 🙌. We tried but couldn't quite match your stickering skills 😅.

We got a little help in acquiring our training rowing boat: from RA'Quel. In daily life a recruitment and consulting agency. In our case an enthusiastic sponsor!

They offer their clients solutions on financial matters. Yes! S2 (steering) exam 'in tha pocket'. From now on we are allowed to take boats out on the water without guidance at Rijnland Roeivereniging.

Time to get some training miles in!
