Julia Janowitz shared how high-power impulse magnetron sputtering supports advanced coating solutions in industrial manufacturing. Her session connected coating performance with daily production realities such as stability, scalability and process control.

We are at the Nuremberg Exhibition Centre, where Thorsten Karla and Roel Bosch are meeting sensor specialists, engineers and manufacturers at SENSOR+TEST 2026.

The conversations are all about sensor applications in demanding environments. Thorsten is sharing how PVD and PACVD coating equipment can support protective thin films and functional layers for stable, durable and reliable production.

It is great to hear the specific challenges visitors are working on. From sputtering and arc evaporation to HiPIMS, every conversation brings a new angle on what advanced coating technology can make possible.

On 17 June, Hauzer will be present at the HIPIMS Conference in Sheffield, UK. At 10:00 AM, Julia Janowitz will give a presentation on “HIPIMS: Advanced coating technology from an industrial manufacturing perspective”.

During her session, Julia will share how HIPIMS technology contributes to advanced coatings for industrial applications. She will connect coating performance with the realities of industrial manufacturing, where reliability, scalability and process control matter every day.

One of our largest customers, Tohken Thermo Tech, is a global coating provider headquartered in Japan. With nearly 800 employees in Japan and multiple sites across Asia and Mexico, they’ve built a solid position in heat treatment and thin-film coatings.

Automotive has played a major role in that growth. Together, we supported Tohken in expanding their coating capabilities with 25 Hauzer systems, contributing to their leading position in Japan, especially in DLC coatings.

That same market is now shifting. The move toward electric vehicles reduces the number of components, which directly impacts coating demand. For Tohken, this creates urgency to rethink where and how they grow. To accelerate that shift, they established an Innovation Center. A place where they collaborate with partners early in development and explore new applications beyond automotive:
