We are a group of expat with love for volleyball and the goal of competing in a dutch tournament
Here below some more info:
Recreational TOURNAMENT
We currently have 2 teams, of mix genders and ages, that are playing in 2 different tournaments accross Utrecht (Tournament competition happens from Oct to May)
The tournament formula is to play one time per month. We play not by points but by time (every game has 2 sets of 12min, total 24 min per game)
Each month, in one saturday, we play 4 games in rotation: 2 sets of 12 minutes x game, total 8 sets for one day.
Attendance to the games is required, in order to join the Club.
We have a club jersey to play the tournament: the jersey is property of the club, you’ll receive it for the season, and you’ll have to give it back at the end of the season.
TRAINING
Currently we train at Sportcentrum Galgenwaard Utrecht, every tuesday, 20.00-21.30 (Oct-dec) and 21.30-23.00(dec-march), 20.00-21.30 (march-may).
To enter the volley fields at Sportcentrum, you need to walk up 2 floors of the external iron stairs, and you enter the hall. Straight in front of you, you see stairs going down to the fields.
For season 2022/2023, we are looking for a different location that will allow us to train at the same time thru the year (19.30-21.30), but this is still TBC.
ABOUT JOINING THE CLUB
The acceptance to our Club is subject to 2 trials, to test the level of the player: we don’t accept beginners and/or basic level players, and we do require you to know how rotation works. Participation to the trainings and a good team attitude are required to be accepted to the club.
After 2 tryouts, we’ll communicate if you are going to be accepted to the club: the decision is based on your volley skills, availability and attitude.
We organized 2 tryouts in May, same location of the trainings (Sportcentrum Galgenwaard), from 20.00 to 21.30:

We have a club yearly fee, that covers the payment of the tournamrnt and rent of the tuesday training field: the yearly fee is calculated only after we understand how many players join the season, and is usually around 125 euro per year.
