What can you expect when you come to your first class at ?

✨A welcoming smile when you first arrive

✨You will use props such as light weights, bands, and balls

✨A certified barre instructor who will make sure you are using proper form

✨Don’t be afraid to shake, your working new muscles

Let’s talk about your standing leg in barre.

This is for when you keep your foot flat on the ground and your “working leg” is in parallel (knee facing the ground).

Correct:
✅Standing foot and knee are facing straight forward
✅Knee is bent and is directly above the ankle
✅Foot is flat on the ground and weight is evenly distributed on the sole of the foot

Incorrect:
❎Knee is bent too far forward over the toes
❎Knee collapses inward towards the big toe
❎Weight is not properly distributed across the foot causing toes to lift off the ground

Take Away:
Proper alignment is key 🔑
Your hip, knee, and ankle are all connected and should be aligned. Miss alignment in one of these joints can cause pain/injury in other parts of the body.

Why barre?

During class you will move your body, feel balanced, and feel strong.
You will not only challenge yourself physically, but also mentally. 🤍

👌🏼Barre focuses on low impact movements that will strengthen your entire body.

👌🏼Because barre also focus on stabilizer muscles, it is great to combined with other forms of exercises e.g. running and/or heavy weight training.

This does not only apply to exercise, but to all aspects of your life 🤍

When perceived barriers are high (I don’t have enough time or I rather be doing something else) it is extremely hard to accomplish a goal.

So what’s the trick❓
SMALL attainable WEEKLY goals.
🌟 After lunch I will walk 10mins everyday this week.

If you are able to achieve this (even for just a week) your confidence in your own ability to accomplish your goal will go up!! MOTIVATION 👏🏼👏🏼

Take your big goal (where you want to end up) and break it down into smaller goals.
DM if you want some guidance in learning how to achieve your goals and reach your dreams❤️

“Bring your legs into tabletop” is often said during a core section of a class, but what exactly does that mean? Am I doing it correctly?

Many ab exercises incorporate tabletop so having proper alignment is key! 🔑

⭐️ Think about your lower back being flat on the ground

⭐️ Knees stacked over hips and toes in line with your knees

⭐️ 90° is the goal

In tabletop you are able to focus on:

⭐️ Lower abs: By keeping your head on the mat and dropping your legs to the ground
Example: Toe taps

⭐️ Upper abs: By lifting your head and shoulders off the mat looking up towards the ceiling
Example: Crunches

⭐️ Overall core engagement: By dropping your arms and legs at the same time
Example: Deadbug
