~A reminder from my Spider plants:

This spider belonged to the previous tenant of my current home. She was not doing great when I adopted it, changed the pot, some love and I would still look at it thinking she doesn't look great. It seemed messy and not really growing, compared with the other one that I already had (pic two).
One day, scrolling in a plant advice page (yes, I'm that much of a plant lady), I see someone asking why her spider plant was not "curling". I stand, look at mine, and there is was, blooming full of curls.
Moral of the story:
We see through our own lens , through our own filters , of who we are, of what we know. In our way of seeing, we carry our wounds, dreams and traumas, nwe have expectations.
We see what we are searching for, or what we are ready to find.
What we are used to, what we already understood
What we are conscious enough to be aware of.
Is this a bad thing? I don't think so, I guess it's us tuning into our human experience, bringing our own unique perspective into this plane.
But today , I would like to remind myself that it is also good to see further, to open the eyes, the mind , the heart , a bit more. It can be scary, uncomfortable , difficult to understand. It might shake our structure, challenging us into de the unknown... but giving us then the opportunity to evolve, to see something new that is out there, ready to give us a fresh perspective.

What was a dream some months ago, today is a lovely reality: Balanzs Amsterdam 💛 After a couple of months of hard work, smiles, crazy schedules, a couple of tears, quite some sweat and effort, we are open! This incredible community ,that is not just my working space, but my home in may ways, has expanded! And has now two new beautiful spaces where to welcome people to share smiles. I'm grateful, for the opportunity of being part of this project, but over all, for the incredible beings that I have the privilege to share it with. The entire team has been full hands on to make this happen, but I have to thank the awesome in particular for all those hours shared 🙏 This adventure has just started, let's get together soon for some yoga in Amsterdam 😉

During the last weeks in particular I've shared yoga practices with many different yogis. Different backgrounds, different styles, different approaches, different cultures, focus, etc. And it got me reflecting about my yoga journey. Mirroring me in my practice I became more aware of how yoga has become a life style, one of engines of my life journey. Through the different practices, a couple in particular brought me back to my first encounters with yoga. And then I saw myself different, my body is different, my breathing is different, but in particular then I saw, the way I react (or now actually respond) to certain ways of cueing is different. That brought me to see my expression of yoga today, now on both sides of the mat. I felt directly how a way of saying something can make someone's experience totally different. I wondered, how many hyperflexible yogis like me ,would have been tag as lazy. Without even getting to the fact that sometimes ,what looks like hanging in your asana, is already implying an effort for that person. How many "stiff" yogis would have felt "unfit" , "not flexible enough" just because someone was not present enough to see their struggle, give them options and just sharing that it's more than fine that your shape is different of the one next to you. So please yogi, don't let anyone tell you: You are too much this, or too less that ; don't go anywhere in your practice because someone tells you to do so, but because you have listened to yourself and then decide to explore that cue. YOU KNOW GOOD FOR YOU, YOU ARE ENOUGH! And for all of us who had decided to share our practices with others, BE KIND. Step yourself in the other yogi's mat before making assumptions or giving imperative directions. I'm grateful for those that kindly guided me, and those who made me feel not fit for a yoga practice, eventually I am the result of both. But I choose to share yoga though the the first one, cause the growth and awareness of myself that came through it STAYED. Most probably, because any guidance that comes from a place of LOVE will get to us way deeper and linger way longer than any other.

Is the new moon in Pisces today, take a moment to define and plant the seeds for those new beginnings that you want from your heart. Take a moment to envision and start to create that new YOU.
~
It doesn't have to be a big set up,you don't need much! give yourself space for that too, create your own rituals.
~
In these days of uncertainty and fear (again...) I feel is particularly important to take a moment to connect, with our inner power, with our self love. I hope the energy of renewal that the new moon brings helps you to find your light... Sending love and positive vibes...

~"I am going home" I said when I started the trip to Uruguay, and "I am going back home" I said when I took the plane back to The Netherlands. Weird but true, that is how I feel it. 5 weeks of summer, friends and family that filled up my heart with love and at the same time confirmed me on my path. After 2 years and a half, it was more than needed for me to go there. Meeting those parts of an old me, confirmed the new ones and reinforced the ones that remain.
Nothing but love and gratitude I feel towards my life, the one I left and the one I built up.

~ I am sorry I have been silent over here, but taking in all that needed space, and you already know I am not the best one with social media so it was a natural sign out...

Let me tell you a little story...

A year and a half ago I came to Den Haag totally open and with barely a plan. One of the few things I had clear was that I wanted to do yoga and share it with others. How, when, where?? It was all going to be a discover! I applied as a Karma yogi at and started helping out at the studio, meeting beautiful people and sharing some awesome yoga. At that moment I couldn't be able to imagine that this place would be my happy place, my home, a safe caring place where I would meet beautiful people that would teach me and encourage me in my growing process.
I'm happy to let you know that we will keep sharing some yoga at Balanzs, but you would also see me on the other side of the mat now 😉

Picture 1: The first time I went to Balanzs office that little fella wast at the door, I knew something magical was happening

Picture 2: The Veenkade Studio received me with for my training as a Karma yogi and will receive me later for my trial class with . Thank you both for the good vibes those days! 🙏🏻💛

Picture 3: Me, happy AF 🤭😅 after teaching my first class
