Black Swan SB20 was born out of pure passion.
A passion to race. To grow. To be visible. And to show that women also claim — and deserve — their place in competitive one-design sailing.
Following earlier successful initiatives such as Swanne Bonny Racing Team and Sailing for Think Pink, we continue to build a strong, ambitious, and committed sporting story.
A story where performance, enjoyment, and social impact go hand in hand.
Who are we?
Black Swan SB20 is the first all-female SB20 racing team in Belgium, active at the Royal North Sea Yacht Club.
The initiator and owner of the SB20 Black Swan is Elina Cnudde, an active member of vzw Stuurvrouw.
She is the first female boat owner within the club to build a completely new all-female racing team in this class.
Our team consists of:
• Amélie Verhofstede
• Elina Cnudde
• Sofie Lasure
• Tessa Kemme
• Virginie Huys
Five women with diverse backgrounds — Europe, Laser, RS Aero, 420, J80, offshore campaigns, and international championships — united by one shared ambition: to grow stronger together and perform at the highest level.
Our ambition
We have developed an intensive training and racing schedule across Belgium, the Netherlands, and France.
We train on inland waters as well as on the North Sea, under the guidance of Belgian and Dutch coaches.
Our main goal: participation in the SB20 World Championship in Hyères (France) in October 2026.
This means:
• hundreds of training hours
• participation in international regattas
• professional coaching
• continuous investment in equipment and performance
Black Swan SB20 stands for ambition with an international outlook.
