Beginnen is winnen 🧡

Hier begint mijn verhaal: als 8-jarig kind voor het eerst in een zwembad. Het begon met zwemdiploma A, daarna B en C. Omdat ik het zo leuk vond, volgden ook snorkelen A, B en C en zelfs zwemvaardigheid 1, 2 en 3.

Uiteindelijk kwam de vraag: misschien wil je eens wedstrijdzwemmen proberen? En óf ik dat leuk vond.

Jonge Valerie en het zwembad werden al snel onlosmakelijk met elkaar verbonden. Ik had een hele hoop plezier, en vooral geen idee waar die eerste meters me ooit zouden brengen.

Nu, vele EK’s, WK’s en zelfs de Olympische Spelen later, ben ik ontzettend blij dat ik die eerste stap ooit heb gezet. Want elke prestatie begint met één sprong in het diepe.

20% of the total profit from the collection will be donated to the Keep A Breast Foundation: Breast Cancer Nonprofit Foundation, supporting their work around breast health education and awareness.

Happy to announce that I’ve qualified for the 50m freestyle at the European Championships in Paris next month 🇪🇺🤩

And… a little PB moment too 🚨✨. Happy to see the hard work pay off.

Unfortunately, I just came up short in the 100m freestyle. I would have loved to also represent the team in the relays!

I feel like there’s much more left in the tank, and I’m ready to perform at my full potential. There’s a lot more to come 🤝🏻🧡
