We had a strong start to the day and showed a lot of speed early on. Unfortunately, we could not carry that pace into the Final. Due to some engine issues, we lost performance and had to defend hard throughout the race, which eventually left us finishing in P10.

After 6 years of karting at a professional level, we have finally decided to (partially) quit the sport. I’ve enjoyed these last 6 years, making many memories and friends on and around the track. I’ve also had the opportunity to participate in various championships, which I greatly appreciate. I’ve been part of 3 different teams with a variety of teammates, creating some very enjoyable times. Thank you sponsors, for these incredible years. Thanks you , and for guiding and coaching me. The last dance

Raceweek karting Genk this weekend. This weekend will be my final official raceweekend, I’m not entirely quitting the kartsport but I will be taking a step back, so that’s means no or some dutch championship races
and/or european races.

Tough weekend at Spa Francorchamps. Due to the heat, long vacation and the big and tough field, last raceweekend it was tough for me. Okay, I was missing some speed during all the sessions. but what was it about, the correct setup of the kart, the engine or the tires? We do not know. During qualifying I finished P9 in my group, Heat 1 finished P14 and heat 2 ended up in P11. Good enough to go straight to the final with a starting position of P17. Unfortunately some riders in front of me crashed after the start and I was hit from behind so unfortunately impossible to avoid. I had to fight back from P30. And got up until P20 before it ended in disaster again. When overtaking, the other driver did not see me and pushed me off the track. End of the race. Not good for the ranking in the Dutch championship. The weekend was a lot of fun after not driving for a while. On to Berghem. The next race on October 7th and 8th.

Late race report.

Good recovery in Kerpen. After a disappointing weekend in Eindhoven three weeks ago, I recovered well last weekend in Kerpen. During the third round in the Netherlands Championship I qualified in 11th place for the start of the pre-final. In both the pre-final and the final I finished in 6th place. The speed was good and the focus. A nice boost for the next race in August at Spa Francorchamps.
