Hi friends!

Those of you who are on the Instagram probably already noticed work on Head For The Exit is resuming. As usual, I'm keeping track of the build in an Imgur album which I continuously update as things progress. You can find it through the link below:

Bear in mind though I am not sure when this fourth iteration will continue the hunt for sparks. This year's Bristol Bot Builders (BBB) champs sadly interfere with other engagements, so for its 5 year anniversay HFTE might just return to its debut event: Battle in the 'Burgh. Now all I need is a date... so, wen?

What a year. The Inspectors completed the challenge of building a two-way saw clusterbot by hand (at the expense of my own sanity), and Head For The Exit finally behaved at the Champs, with its weapon now where I want it to be.

It’s awesome to have people approach me afterwards, either complimenting me on the build or commenting on their bloodlust as they’d see HFTE's weapon being put into play. Thanks for that - appreciation from the crowd is the highest accolade for me.

The coming year, time to iron out the kinks, and chase that sparks dragon some more. Happy holidays, and see you in 2024!

Traditional final stage in prep: making a cradle out of offcuts!

Wanted to have a new cradle which would allow me to carry Head For The Exit with 1 hand. Started with a single straight piece, and lots of cutting, bending and drilling later this was the result. Seems to have come out okay, I reckon.

Head For The Exit, Mk 3.

Changes include a change in voltage (4S from 3S), a bigger fuse (60A from 30A) and a narrower, rebuilt main chassis for weight efficiency.

Three weeks to go till the Champs, where it will hopefully break with tradition and work properly. Needs some details worked out, but overall quite happy.
