THE Rotterdam Basketball Student Association Erasmus Basketball Club Baros was founded on Febuary 14th, 1968 by a group of students with a love for basketball.

Over the years it has grown into a club with approximately 100 members, divided over 4 men’s and 4 women’s teams. These teams are active on a broad range of levels, ranging from national level to regional classes. EBV Baros is a basketball club for students (university/hbo) and young professionals. Besides playing basketball, Baros organizes many social activities such as drinks, (theme) parties and tournaments. Traditionally, Baros organizes its Baros International Mixed Tournament every year during the third weekend of March. Teams from all over Europe join to play in this tournament, for a weekend full of basketball and partying.

We’re excited to introduce the team working behind the scenes to make this year unforgettable on and off the court.

Hi, my name is Aris, I’m a second year IBEB student and for this season I will be the president of EBV Baros. I am 19 years old and I am originally from Greece, but I moved to Belgium with my family when I was 10 years old.

I have been playing basketball for almost 10 years now and I was always interested in helping out my club, either by coaching or organising. It’s an honour to be the president of this amazing club and I will do my best to make sure all Baros members enjoy it as much as I do!!

Hi everyone! I’m a 20 year old Belgian, currently in my second year of IBEB at Erasmus University, and the Secretary of Baros. Having grown up internationally in Bulgaria and the Czech Republic, I’ve always enjoyed being part of diverse communities. I started playing basketball at 14 and quickly fell in love with the game, both on and off the court. As a board member, I’m excited to help make Baros a club that thrives not only competitively but also socially, building a strong community where everyone feels at home. 🏀

Hello everyone! My name is Ryan Devasia, and I’ll be your treasurer for the 2026/27 season. I’m 18 years old, born and raised in Curaçao, with Indian roots. I’m currently a second-year IBEB student and have been playing basketball for around nine years.

I decided to take on the role of treasurer because it aligns with my future career goals while also giving me the opportunity to contribute to Baros and help the club continue to grow. I’m excited for the season ahead and look forward to working with everyone!
