"Pendekar Rotterdam" has been founded in 1985 by the Portier brothers: Roy, Edison and Jeffrey. They are all masters in Muay Thai and instruct in the art on a daily basis. Roy, Edison and Jeffrey all have at least 40 years of experience in martial arts. A variety of martial arts disciplines are taught in the gym, accordingly the following:
-Muay Thai: fighting from a standing position;
-Muay Boran

: the unarmed ancient Thai fighting art;
-Free Fight: Fighting from a standing position as well as grappling;
-Boxing: European boxing. The martial arts disciplines are offered in different training groups, which are to be divided as follow:
-Youth from the age of 6;
-Recreational team;
-Competition team;
-Senior team;
-Private classes;
-In company training. Aside of that the opportunity exists to hire a team, trained and led by Pendekar instructors for exhibits. The years of experience are a guarantee for the high quality courses offered. This can also be deduced from the long list of A-class champions who were and are trained by Pendekar Rotterdam. These champions have been awarded with national and international titles. The Portier brothers not only focus on the competition team, where achievement is the benchmark, moreover they also provide alot of attention to the training of the youth, recreational and senior classes. The Portier brothers are assisted by a variety of skilled instructors during these classes.
