Greatsword Foundations: Intensive Workshop (May 16, 2026)
On May 16th 2026, Oskar ter Mors is hosting a focused 4-hour intensive (10:00–14:00) dedicated to building a solid, practical foundation in greatsword fencing.
⚔️ This workshop is specifically designed for:
-People new to greatsword
-Practitioners who want to start correctly, safely, and with confidence
⚔️ Why this workshop matters
Greatsword can feel overwhelming at first—large weapon, unfamiliar mechanics, and often unclear structure in regular classes. This workshop cuts through that.
⚔️ In just four hours, you’ll gain:
-A clear technical foundation you can build on immediately
-Understanding of how to move, control, and apply the weapon safely
-Practical experience that connects drills to real use
⚔️ What we’ll train
-Structured warm-up routines specific to greatsword
-Safe and efficient weapon handling
-Core mechanics (movement, structure, control)
-Scenario-based skirmish games to translate technique into action
The material is informed by historical sources, including Figueiredo, Dürer, and selected elements from other fight books, adapted into a modern, teachable format.
Small group = real progress
⚔️ With a maximum of 8 participants, you can expect:
-Individual feedback
-Close coaching
-Time to refine details instead of just “getting through” material
⚔️ Equipment
No greatsword? No problem. Training weapons are available—just indicate this in the sign-up form.
