📢 Rectificatie – World Final uitslag

Na de technische keuring zijn de nummers 1, 2 en 3 gediskwalificeerd. Hierdoor is de officiële einduitslag aangepast.

Waar Jorden aanvankelijk als 10e over de finish kwam, is hij uiteindelijk opgeklommen naar een prachtige 7e plaats in de World Final! 💪🏁

🇬🇧 World Finals 2 Litre Hotrods – Ipswich 🇬🇧

Donderdag zijn we met de boot naar Engeland vertrokken voor de World Finals 2 Litre Hotrods in Ipswich. Jorden had zich hiervoor gekwalificeerd, samen met de 40 beste rijders die allemaal tegelijk de baan op gingen. Alleen dat al was een geweldig gezicht!

Vrijdag stond in het teken van de training. Dat ging best goed en gaf vertrouwen voor het raceweekend.

Zaterdag begon met de briefing en de loting voor de startposities van de eerste drie manches.

🏁 Manche 1: Een mooie start en Jorden kon goed meekomen. Helaas spinde er vlak voor hem een rijder, waardoor hij een aanrijding niet meer kon voorkomen. Door de opgelopen schade zat de race er helaas op.

🏁 Manche 2: Een sterke race waarin hij knap naar een mooie 6e plaats reed.

🏁 Manche 3: Mooie gevechten op de baan, maar uiteindelijk niet verder dan een 20e plaats. Dat mocht de pret niet drukken!

Daarna was het tijd voor hét moment waar alles om draaide: de World Final! Door zijn resultaten in de eerste drie manches mocht Jorden starten vanaf P20. Wat volgde was een geweldige race vol actie, inhaalacties en uitwijkmanoeuvres. Hij vocht zich knap naar voren en finishte uiteindelijk op een fantastische en dik verdiende 10e plaats tussen de beste 40 rijders. Daar zijn we ontzettend trots op! 💪🏁

Zondag staat er nog één manche op het programma en daarna weer richting huis om alles klaar te maken voor de volgende race.

Wat hebben we genoten van dit weekend. Mooie races, geweldige sfeer en vooral veel gezelligheid met elkaar. Op naar de volgende! 👊

It's time once again for the biggest oval racing weekend of the year: the legendary Spedeweekend in Ipswich!

This year's event promises to be even more spectacular, with the battle for the 2.0 Hotrod World Championship. Drivers from across Europe will line up to fight for one of the most prestigious titles in oval racing.

Met trots kunnen wij delen dat twee van onze 2.0 Hotrod coureurs zijn geselecteerd voor Team Europe tijdens de South Africa Ovalracing Tour in februari 2027 mede georganiseerd door Spedeworth Motorsports!

Een unieke kans om zich op internationaal niveau te meten met de top van Zuid-Afrika, tijdens één van de meest prestigieuze evenementen binnen het ovalracen.

Voor #122 Jorden Vowinkel en #747 Marius Bert uit de 2.0 Hotrods is dit een geweldige beloning voor hun inzet en ontwikkeling.

A Season to Remember – Reflection on My 2-Litre Hotrod Year

Now that the dust has settled and the engines have cooled down, it’s time to look back and reflect on a season that tested us, shaped us, and ultimately rewarded us in ways we could only have dreamed of at the start.

We began the year with two cars on the grid and a lot of motivation. My father returned to racing after being out for several years, and the comeback wasn’t easy. From the very first races, he struggled to find his rhythm. The car simply didn’t feel right, and week after week we searched for answers. The entire season felt like a battle against mechanical issues, bad luck, and even a few questionable suspensions that made things harder than they needed to be. Eventually we discovered that the main problem had been hiding in the rear shock absorbers all along — a frustrating realization after so many difficult races. By then, the tone of his season had already been set, but his perseverance and support never faded.

My own season started in a completely different way. I opened the championship with three incredibly strong races, immediately placing myself at the top of the standings. Very quickly people began to say that my father would help me win the championship. I knew that if I actually managed to win it, some would say my success came because of him — and that my own performances might be overshadowed. That thought stayed with me throughout the season and pushed me even harder to prove myself on the track.

Looking back now, I can honestly say it was a year of dominance and consistency. We were fast everywhere we went. At my home circuit in Lelystad, I managed to win every single race — something incredibly special to me. In roughly 95 percent of the events we set the fastest lap times, and our consistency was unmatched. We missed only one heat all year, and every other event we finished — a testament to both speed and reliability.

The results speak for themselves. We won the NNO Championship by just one point — proof that every lap, every pass, and every decision mattered. We claimed victory in the Continental Cup. We won the Dutch Open — a race that, when you watch the footage back, clearly shows the intense push-and-pull battles that defined the competition, personally the result doesnt sit right with me. And perhaps most importantly to me, we captured what I consider the ultimate prize: the Overall Points Championship.

There are prestigious races like the World Championship or the European Championship, but those are decided in a single event — a single day where everything has to come together at once. Winning the overall championship means something different. It shows that you weren’t just the best for a moment; you were the most consistent, the strongest, and the most complete driver over an entire season. That is something I am incredibly proud of, and to me it means even more than a potential European/British/National or World title won on a single day.

None of this would have been possible without the people around me. Henri, my father, my mother, my grandparents, Gerton, Talitha, Alex, Roy, and Jeffrey — your support, hard work, belief, and sacrifices made this season what it was. I am deeply grateful and incredibly proud to have such an amazing team behind me.
