You don’t always have to be there to be part of something. Sometimes, your art gets there before you do. 🎨
I wasn’t able to join this year’s photowalk in Gubat, but I’m still happy knowing that I had a small part in it.
For the past four years, I’ve been part of this community, and one of the ways I contribute is through design, creating the shirts that become part of these activities and the stories behind them.
It may seem like a small thing, but I’ve learned that being part of a community doesn’t always mean being physically present.
Sometimes, you contribute through what you know.
Sometimes, through what you create.
Sometimes, you just make sure your part gets done.
I may not have been there with a camera this time, but at least my design made it. 😂
And that’s what I love about art.
It gives us different ways to participate, to connect, and to make people notice stories that deserve to be seen.
This photowalk wasn’t just about taking beautiful photos of Gubat Bay. It was also about seeing the people, the fishermen, their communities, and the stories connected to the place they call home.
That’s the kind of art and community I’m proud to be part of.
Four years in, and I still believe that showing up doesn’t always mean standing in the frame. Sometimes, it means helping create it. 📸🎨
Proud to contribute in my own little way.
Save Gubat Bay. Stand with our fishers. Let their stories be seen. 🌊
