Up next: Derek #96 who joined the fabulous Buccaneers crew in 2021. Derek decided to join the Buccs to try out hockey, and now he’s hooked - unsurprising given the fact the he was made (if you catch my drift) in Canada so hockey must run in his blood!!

Derek’s favourite memory so far was the Night Tournament, an evening where teams from around the Netherlands meet up to play hockey all night and have fun

Up next: Helen #25 who joined the team all the way back in 2017. Helen decided to tryout for the Buccaneers after a friend of hers joined the crew and told her how cool and awesome of a team we are.

Looking back at her time with the Utrecht Buccaneers to date, she looks back most fondly on the pond hockey of 2020. After an entire season without hockey (due to government safety regulations), the Buccaneers spent nearly all 5 skate able days outside playing hockey together. It was the first time that many of us had seen each other in awhile and it was glorious! Not to worry, only a few of us fell through the ice - but if you ask them, they’ll all tell you that it was completely worth it!!

Up next: Gido #62 who joined the team in 2021. Gido loved ice hockey since he was 16 but was never able to play. Last year his dreams came true when he joined the Buccs ;)

On top of finally being able to play the wonderful sport that is (ice)hockey Gido also enjoys the social aspect of the team - the Night Tournament in Enschede being his favourite Bucca-memory so far.

A fun fact about Gido is that his grandpa used to go watch ice hockey games in The Hague, when he was a child in the 1950’s, must’ve been some good ol’ school hockey!

While the rink is closed for summer break we want to take some time to introduce some of the Buccs! First up is our goalie Jorik #97 who joined the team in 2016. "The Buccs are the best, you don’t have to be able to skate, which is good, because after 6 years I still can't!"

He describes himself as a Dutchananian and finished up his studies in Security Management recently. His favorite memory of his time with the Buccs was the NSK of 2017 in Utrecht.

What a way to end the season!
Great effort from the entire team, including our awesome fans who joined us in Amsterdam to cheer us on in our last game of the season. Until the next season! 🏒

On sunday our rookies faced off against the leiden blues. After a hard faught battle the buccaneers lost 6:4. Even though we lost we were able to celebrate Mauds, Sergis and Alexs first goals 🥅🏒 3rd star went to Thom, 2nd star to Jesse and 1st to Maud 🌟

First home win of the season with a hatty for , an outstanding performance of our goalie , and a good first competition game for !!

We are playing another home game tomorrow at 21:00 against the Eindhoven Icehawks. We will be fighting together to get our first home win of the season so we hope to see you there. GO BUCCS!!

We put up a hard fight last weekend but unfortunately couldn’t keep the points in Utrecht. Looking forward to a rematch with Nijmegen!

This Sunday at 21.00 we are playing our first home competition game against at the Vechtsebanen. Spectators are welcome, so come cheer on the Buccaneers!🏒 Remember to bring your ID, QR code and mask 😊

This past Sunday the Buccaneers suffered their first loss of the season against the Groningen Bulldogs.
Despite the loss and returning to Utrecht bruised and battered after a very physical game, we hold our heads high as we sail into the last month of our competition season. Go Buccs Go!
